When did the Eastern myth start?

They took over the entire top half of boxing for a decade (everything above MW), but we can basically call that the "lost decade".
Western media refused to cover hundreds of great fights & heavily promoted the smaller divisions, despite the action being generally dull. Ironically the "life" down there being another foreign nemesis -- Pacquaio.
& the average US boxing fan isn't exactly going to call them out on it or act enthused about the heroes he worshiped as a kid being exposed as mediocre/uncompetitive on the global scale. Just the best in a handful of US states, not the best in the world. Even many on this forum still live in denial.Last edited by ////; 01-30-2018, 12:22 PM.Comment

WTF. Then it makes the opinion of everyone from the US about every US fighter invalid?
I also just said Vlad cheated Povetkin. Am I russian?
I also said many times Salido cheated Lomachenko. Am I Ukranian? oh, I should be defending Vlad then. But no, I made many threads against Vlad.
I recently made a thread about Golden Boy buying the judges in favor of Matthysse and that he was down 3-4 on the cards to me.

Give credit to Salido for failing weight and hitting Loma five times on the legs and balls.
Give credit to Wlad for clinching Povetkin 100 times.
What else? There's a reason why Postol was called mini-wlad.Comment

There is no nationality or race that is taking over boxing or only one race or nationality would beat all the others. European fighters have EARNED the right to be in the mix, just like other origins, and will continue to be top fighters and world champions and PFP ranked as long as boxing exists, much to the chagrin of haters.Comment

You must punch holes in your wall when Lomachenko winsAll of a sudden, there was this weird myth that Eastern Europeans were taking over boxing. What started that myth?
When old fat Lewis knocked prime Vitali's head open?
When Joshua knocked out Wladimir?
When little Haye smacked giant Valuev around?
When Crawford traumatised and retired Postol?
When Jacobs got robbed after outboxing Golovkin?
When Ward schooled Kovalev twice and made people whine?
When Bradley defeated Provodnikov?
When Easter defeated Shafikov?
When Indongo destroyed Troyanovski in 1 round?
Seriously, I don't see it, I just don't see it. I love Eastern Europe. They are great people, great to have a party with, sexy women as well. They are also very intelligent. So don't take this for hatred or anything. But honestly, they were never the dominant force in boxing. Blacks are, have always been and will always be... It's genetics, man, hating it won't change it.Comment

Thats where a lot of the talent is coming from. Its undeniable. Every relevant promoter is signing guys with names you can't pronounce. Up until the last few years, so many of these guys who were great just didn't turn pro. Now that is changing and there are several reasons, but that main reason is Gennady Golovkin.
And this doesn't mean there isn't a lot of talent elsewhere. Boxing is a global sport.
I'm actually glad that the popularity of boxing for kids in the United States has gone down. Who the hell wants their kid of get their brains bashed in? Play safer sports, focus on education, etc.Last edited by PK3434; 01-30-2018, 03:18 PM.Comment
