When did the Eastern myth start?

Eastern Euros have great genetics for fighting. Cardio is the most important thing when it comes to fighting and all those ripped black guys have terrible cardio. You can see which type of athleticism is superior in fights like Froch vs Taylor. Look at Usyk, Golovkin and Provodnikov and the insane pace that they are able to fight at without tiring.
It's no coincidence that Eastern Europe is also home to the greatest animal on the planet the brown bear which represents the same power, explosiveness and endurance combination as the typical Eastern Euro fighter. A bear can run at top speed for miles while African cheetahs get tired quickly.Comment

I've never understood this. Why does skin complexion or regional birth matter? Aren't all of these guys risking their lives and well being for our entertainment? What does any of that other sht really matter? It shouldn't unless you have some secret inferiority complex that needs stroking by calling yourself or your race superior to others. All of a sudden, there was this weird myth that Eastern Europeans were taking over boxing. What started that myth?
When old fat Lewis knocked prime Vitali's head open?
When Joshua knocked out Wladimir?
When little Haye smacked giant Valuev around?
When Crawford traumatised and retired Postol?
When Jacobs got robbed after outboxing Golovkin?
When Ward schooled Kovalev twice and made people whine?
When Bradley defeated Provodnikov?
When Easter defeated Shafikov?
When Indongo destroyed Troyanovski in 1 round?
Seriously, I don't see it, I just don't see it. I love Eastern Europe. They are great people, great to have a party with, sexy women as well. They are also very intelligent. So don't take this for hatred or anything. But honestly, they were never the dominant force in boxing. Blacks are, have always been and will always be... It's genetics, man, hating it won't change it.Comment

Not all divisions are the same. Case in point, the #2 super middleweight is currently George Groves, is he really better than the #3 junior bantamweight Estrada? Or is he better than the #3 middleweight, Jacobs? Is the #1 lightweight Linares currently better than the #2 welterweight Spence?
Briedis is a better fighter than Postol it's clear to see watching them fight. I do rate Crawford #1 or 2 pound for pound with Lomachenko because I see them as the two best fighters, but your logic is flawed.Comment

Postol was undefeated when he fought Crawford and was #1 or #2 ranked at JWW. He had just destroyed Matthysse when people were claiming he was a top JWW and was favored to win.
Don't retroactively lower Postol just because you want to put GGG and Loma ahead of Crawford.Comment

Had he achieved more then Postol?? or were both just average champs who were at the top of an average division? and Jacobs had beaten who to be better then Postol?? serious question what makes those 2 wins any better then Crawfords? all seem average to meNot all divisions are the same. Regarding the OP, first and foremost who really gives a **** outside of sickos? The 60's arguably 3 of the best 4 were Latino (Jofre, Ortiz, Olivares), probably the top 2 of the 1970's were Latino (Monzon, Duran with Napoles & Arguello possibly top 5 also), same in the 80's you had Chavez and Sanchez two of the top 5 for sure so to say only black fighters have been good is a little misleading and in poor taste.
Nobody is saying there is an Eastern Euro dominance but for the race warriors it's obviously getting tough for them because since they have started to turn pro the number of world champions and pound for pound entrants they have is high. For example, there's more belts owned by european white than african americans by quite a bit. I think Asians and then Latino's are the closest in number of belts and I think the pound for pound lists are a bit of a reflection too with probably more eastern euro's than anything else. So this racist myth that eastern euro's are a non-factor in the sport is nothing but an insecurity brought on by people who root strictly based on ethnicity.
Boxing is a diverse sport and becoming more diverse due to more global participation. It's a shame to think that a lot of fans here would stop watching if there really was a european dominance.Comment

Beating Huck in Germany was probably more impressive than what Postol did to date and if you've seen him fight enough you can see he passes the eye test over Postol. Same with Jacobs and one could argue his win over the undefeated Quillin as an underdog was a good win.
So you think Postol is average too? Bare in mind I am a big Crawford fan and he's my favorite active fighter.Comment

To be honest Postol only beat Matthysse because he was allowed to clinch non stop and headbutt Matthysse hard with no point deduction or anything. Just a warning in the 6th if I remember. There was a massive headbutt on Matthysse eye two rounds before the stoppage.while I agree all divisions are not the same, don't be a revisionist.

Of course I think Postol was an average win, all I am saying is none of those fighters are great fighters, all good wins but nothing amazing IMOBeating Huck in Germany was probably more impressive than what Postol did to date and if you've seen him fight enough you can see he passes the eye test over Postol.
