He might have to compromise a bit to get those fights.
He doesn't gotta stay with them forever. Sign a 3 fight deal. First fight is the guy. Then you fight your 2 options & go back to being a free agent.

Mikey knows more about these contracts it sounds like so I'm sure he could get worded added to require it be a locked 2 option deal without sketchy a$$ extensions like the average promoter has. And hell I'd even put a timeline on it. I fight Linares in the 2nd Qtr of 2018 for example. Then I get a fight in Sept. Then a fight in Dec/Jan. If GBP misses those marks then contract is void.

Boxers don't play as hardball as they can with these deals. And these cats who got appeal who are free agents can test these boundaries more than it seems like they do to me.

If this fight can solidify- I think we're looking at another pretty great year for boxing

Really want to see this one.

Golden Boy never asked for options on Garcia with the Linares fight, that was with Cotto. They said 1 fight, whichever network put up the most money would show it. It was the 50/50 that Mikey didn't like, and I don't see how much that can change from then til now.

If they get a good offer from Lomachenko they should go with it, youll never know what type of **** Garcia will pull come March

I'm not hating on Mikey's decision making so much as saying "well f#ck him then" + "get back to the end of the line then" & lets make Loma vs Linares NOW if those guys are down to fight NOW & Mikey just wants to talk about fighting bigger time mfers for the next 3-6 more months.

I'm a Mikey fan, but in this regard:
Exactly! Green sent. So basicaly Mikey already refused to fight Linares, doesn't want to fight Loma neither, but feels like he's in place to order the other fighters on who can they fight and who they can't. He became as bad as Floyd in that regard. Meanwhile it looks like both Loma and Linares are ready to fight each other right now! (As long as Linares doesn't duck Loma). So Garcia can fuck off!

Loma beats him handily. The 135 lb division is there for the taking.

Fair enough. But this sounds news sounds like the same as all the bs with Mikey. The question is, will Arum let Loma fight on hbo? Will GB let Linares fight on a TR card on espn?

Two top boxers, who should fight each other, but fight on different networks. Not a new story, just different names.

If Linares is willing to fight off hbo for Loma, but not for Mikey, then that just suggests Linares is blatantly ducking Mikey. And if he isn't, then this is the same as the talk about Mikey and Linares before. Theater and bs.

So he should sign a 3 fight deal in order to get a fight that pays less than the fight he can get that doesn't require a 3 fight deal?!?

                  That is precisely what happened.

                    False.

It's a mandatory fight under the WBC. The WBC has already said the fight will be ordered immediately after Mikey's next fight.

Linares knows the fight is about to be ordered as a mandatory fight and now suddenly he wants to take a different fight instead. Very convenient.

Keep in mind this entire time Linares was entitled to a guaranteed WBC title shot, going back to before Garcia was even the champion, and Linares decided to go the easier WBA route.

Mikey took the most lucrative fight that didn't require a long term exclusive promotional contract.

You're blaming him for that why?

Do you realize how silly it sounds when you criticize him for fighting the IBF champion at 140 pounds instead of the IBF champion at 135 pounds? Fighters just can't win with you. If they want to unify, you want them to move up. If they want to move up, you want them to unify. You just like to complain.
