Spence is going to be no match for Bud. No match!

Crawford will go out in glory like a fighting dog, but Spence will eventually topple him. He's just more powerful. Fans need to assess the size of Crawford's opponent. The 154 minimum hurt game that Spence will employ on Crawford will change the Omaha kid.

The overrating of Crawford in NSB is ridiculous!
He wasn't getting whooped by Dulorme. LOL.

Except that the "Omaha kid" rehydrates to 160 on the day of the fight. Lol. The thing that will shock people most is how Crawford's power translates at 147.

There's not much evidence suggesting Crawford would succumb to a body attack but given his skill set and movement added to Spence's slower feet there's some evidence to suggest Spence isn't able to enforce a relentless attack and that he could have issues trying to get set all night.

Spence is the puncher here and he has natural size and yes, he is an excellent mid range fighter but he's not a one hitter quitter guy. It's methodical pressure and he's a sitting duck for the right hand and doesn't move his head a ton in general. You seem to be making out that his pressure is prime Duran, but it's more Trinidad IMO (which is great too obviously).

Crawford was buzzed as a drained lightweight but he's a massively improved fighter from that Gamboa fight. Spence may indeed be getting better (as is Bud every fight) but I don't see either guy changing it around with a punch and with their respective styles though I see a close enough fight I see a clear style advantage for Crawford and would expect a 116-112 type decision in a good, tense boxing match that doesn't turn into a war or anything.

I really hope we get to see it and it's for all the marbles. It could be a huge event and bring a lot of new fans to Boxing. It's an intriguing match-up and perhaps an era defining one. We need those.

i wouldnt say trinidad i would say hagler and we know hahler beat all comers including srl in my book. yes crawford has skills but errol is the better fundamental boxer which always reins supreme when two greats go at it. it would be ****** to critque either of them because they are both fkn awesome which is why we want to see it.. errol has cut the ring off on everyone and goes to the body like no one else and i dont see crawford lasting 12 rounds being the smaller guy. i cant wait to find out whos right lol. will be awesome to see

There's a similarity to Hagler due to the southpaw stance but I mean more Tito in his style and demeanor. I think he has similar weaknesses (if we can call them that) with his slower feet and little head movement, but both are come forward guys. Hagler was more of a pure boxer for most his career than the seek and destroy guy he became once he slowed down. Tito and Spence are looking for big shots early without rushing. Hagler was content to bust dudes up with the jab and chop them down to size. Hagler was a complete boxer with little to no decencies.

as u can tell im a huge spence fan, i am very good friends with his uncle steve.. we grew up together in brentwood ny.. ill tell u, it does scare me how susceptible spence is to that straight right hand. there will come a time where he wont be able to just walk through those punches as he goes up in weight. im guessing bud is ur fav boxer right now? what do u see in buds game that can be exploited by spence?

Yeah. I've been a big Crawford fan for a while. I see Bud as being one of the more complete fighters in the world currently. There was a time where I felt he was getting tagged for staying in the pocket a little longer than necessary but it seems he's improved that and it's part of Boxing to get hit anyway. He can pull back with his chin out a little but that's really been shown only when he's been in complete control and perhaps didn't respect the opponents power. That's a part of his game Spence can exploit if he's able to cut the ring off on him and get the fight at mid range long enough or in a phone booth because Spence hits accurately and hard. Crawford is about the most adaptable fighter in the game though and once he figures a fight out he's usually good at staying ahead.

What Spence has going for him is that he doesn't get frustrated and he's a very focused fighter which he'll need both with a guy who may take his game plan in round one or two and show him looks he hasn't seen or prepared for. The key will be if Spence can't just clip Bud and impose his size early can he adapt to Bud's adjustments early enough to win enough rounds?
