Don't forget, semi-shot Wlad had Tyson Fury ducking him in the rematch because Fury most likely knew he couldn't repeat that first bout's performance and Wladimir Klitshck would've made adjustments that would've enabled him to more likely get the win via KO in the rematch.
Prime Wladimir Klitschko vs. Tyson Fury.

You dont need PRIME Wlad .
You dont need it bc Klitchko at any point could beat Fury . For Klitchko to have his best chance he would use more foot work to get better range to get his punches off ,this Klitchko fought Joshua _
People are just brain washed that Klitchko needs to be younger ,put the Klitchko in with Fury that Joshua fought and he wins , he wins bc Fury will either run the 12 rounds out entirely or get stopped .
Klitchko has loses early in his career , and under Steward . It was about simple adjustments . He never lost as champion under Steward , and i dont think he needs him to defeat Fury .
Not even Peter Fury thought Tyson was going to win the rematch if he fought him the same way and he addressed this in an interview that Tyson himself needed to be better and more prepared bc he expected a more aggressive Klitchko that was going to throw punches to try and knock him out .
What would Tyson improve ? He is only built himself to fight one way and thats long distance/long range fighting while adding up shots that tire out guys as the fight drags out , that drains opponents .
He avoids going forward and getting into wars bc we see what could happen , weve seen the knock downs , he doesht like the pocket . He only likes the inside when he knows his opposition cant hurt him and he can physically bully them . While Klitchko doesnt throw over hand rights , he certainly hits harder with any punch than Cunningham throws even if Fury was better aware of them coming . .
I would take 2014 Klitchko or 2016 Klitchko or 2017 Klitchko to defeat Fury .Theres alot of performance you can look at . Basing a Tyson SOLE win with not even a dominant performance by either and claiming that Tyson could never lose is ridiculous . Thats like claiming Buster Douglas was the GOAT if had retired after knocking out the real Tyson ..... Mike Tyson !
I think Fury is a good fighter ,his attributes alone make a difficult fight for most . But i aint putting him over Wlad bc he didn't throw punches , no way ........ lol
Klitchko was the most aggressive in the LAST rnd wasnt he ? He won that rnd ....theres a hint that if he comes out like that in the beginning rnds what the out come is likely to be .!Last edited by juggernaut666; 01-29-2018, 05:51 AM.Comment

Prime Wlad wouldn't do any better, the style Steward created for him was very effective but Wlad didn't have the variety or adaptability, to win, he fought one way. Get off first then either move away or smother the counter.
Fury with his height, reach and movement ensured he couldn't get off first and because Wlad doesn't counter punch, he'd have no way to mount any offence. He can't lead, because he can't get in range, he can't counter when Fury attacks, it's why Wlad threw so little vs Fury.
Even the pre-Steward Wlad would lose. Yes he was more aggressive and would have a better puncher's chance than the cautious, jab and grab Steward version but this young Wlad lost 3 times for a reason. His footwork was horrible, he had too wide a stance, couldn't move quickly enough and after throwing would stand right in front of opponents which is why Sanders was able to blast him out. A more static Wlad has no chance vs the agile Fury.
But the X-factor that I could see resulting in a version of Wlad winning, is Steward. If anyone could see the threat Fury possessed it was Steward, he said Fury would be world champion and he was right, he probably didn't expect it would happen vs Wlad. But if anyone can come up with a strategy to beat Fury it would be Steward though he'd have to change a lot of aspects in Wlad's game to do so.Comment

By a mile the best post here. Wlad was always more vulnerable against men his size who could reach his chin, his defence was built for shorter fighters.Prime Wlad wouldn't do any better, the style Steward created for him was very effective but Wlad didn't have the variety or adaptability, to win, he fought one way. I also agree Steward's mind is what COULD have made a difference.
I knew people would blame Wlad's age when it came to these last two fights. It was convenient timing, the Joshua fight they have more of a case, but even then he looked pretty good. I think Wlad peaked around his mid 30's but he still had plenty left in the tank at the end. Heavyweights can still be very competitive in their late 30's early 40's, its not new.
Anyway good post.Comment
