then explain to me why the other champions and top contenders at 130 aren't signing to fight him? why does he have to pull up guys from down below his weight class to fight him in his last two fights? its not his fault but if they don't fancy him as a "name" opponent @135 then they'll fancy him for the wbo belt he holds when he gets it,kill two birds with one Stone..especially given that they'll feel he's smaller than them and it gives the other champs a chance to unify because if they fight him and beat him without the belt people will discredit them as beating a smaller fighter like they discredited loma for beating rigo, the belt serves as a huge compensation package for the top guys at 135..but then again I think loma beats most 135lbers..mikey garcia is the only 50/50 fight for loma and garcia is already campaigning at 140,loma is a slight favorite against Linares who I give a slim chance but that'll be the two matchups for him at 135 that won't be easyComment

I would have loved to have seen Loma's 2018 as:
Berchelt, Linares, and then another top fighter to end the year.
I would have even taken: Berchelt, Beltran, Linares.
I still think they should have Verdejo handle Beltran. I know people don't take Verdejo seriously anymore, but Top Rank has to start rebuilding him. He can't have another waste of a year. Time to take a risk. It won't hurt if Verdejo ends up losing.
Nobody is going to care about 130 anymore and they shouldn't. These fighters don't deserve to be given spotlights for not wanting to test themselves.Comment

Berchelt just let out a sigh of relief while Gervonta is looking for new excuses to avoid Loma at 135.Comment

I would like to have seen Berchelt/Lomachenko. But other than that I wasn't real excited for any other 130 fight for him. At 135, there is some serious equalizer as Lomachenko does not have one punch KO power. He is an accumulative KO style fighter who overwhelms his opponents and beats them down. At 135, he will have to face some fighters with quite a bit more natural power than him. There will be a few more interesting challenges there. I do hope he stays away from anything heavier though. These Pac-Man rumors are just dumb. The weights are just too far apart, regardless of the age and current skill level arguments.Comment

There wasn't much for him at 130 anyway. Linares and Mikey Garcia at 135 are better tests than Berchelt or whoever.
The question is, will In-House Bob allow those fights to happen and in a timely manner?Comment

Hate all this weight jumping when you haven't proven you were the best at the weight you are coming from.Comment
