Spence has been calling out Thurman for years. Thurman has two tittle belts and wins over Porter and Garcia. He is the Man to beat. As Spence says Crawford has done nothing at welterweight yet and is set to fight Horn so why not wait for Crawford to take Horn's title and then call him out? Crawford probably calls out Thurman rather than Spence because Spence is a better, more dangerous opponent than Thurman.

Crawford won't fight either of them until 2020. I think everyone in the division sees Thurman as the wanted man, but they have both acknowledged that a bout between them will happen.

Politics are the down side. But maybe they each see Keef sitting with both the green and black straps. Spence knows if he gets it then his fight with Thurman is sooner rather than later. It would definitely be a much larger fight

Thurman is the man to beat. If either Spence or Crawford beat Thurman they'll have to to fight each other at some point. If Spence beats him first (which I assume he'll get the first shot) Crawford has to face him to have any credibility as a P4P great.
