Comments Thread For: Broner on Trainer Switch: I've Gotta Go Get My **** Together

NEW YORK Adrien Broner believes he had to go in a different direction to tap into the potential he is certain he still possesses. That mindset has led him to West Palm Beach, Florida, where he's working with trainer Kevin Cunningham for his upcoming fight against Omar Figueroa. Cunningham was in Broner's corner for his unanimous-decision defeat to Mikey Garcia in his last bout, but Cunningham is now in charge because he has replaced Mike Stafford as Broner's head trainer.

There's probably better trainers out there than Cunningham for Broner.

stafford should've been fired ages ago. it dont matter how long they know each other it was clear as day broner had no respect for that man's voice. any trainer that cant keep a fighter disciplined should leave that fighter alone. cunningham seems like a take no sht type of guy which might help broner. stafford was a pushover. but I still think derrick james, john david jackson or robert garcia would've been a better fit. broner is still young so his flaws are fixable. but if he keeps abusing his body in between fights theres no hope for him.

Everybody is leaving Stafford. He wasn't chief second in Easter's last fight. Herring left him to. All Stafford fighters have the same problem. They cant handlepressure fighters

              shoulda went with roach..

aggresive combo throwing broner = deadly.

broner already has some what of a slick/boxing style with decent defense, he just needs to let his hands go more often and he needs to throw more than just a 1 or 2 punch.

Derrick James would be a big change for Broner and he would have made Adrien be more aggressive like Charlo has been. That would be a good fit at this stage of Broner's career.

This might be the positive change he needs, but only if he's prepared to meet Cunningham half way and sort out the **** that only he can sort out. He's got enough ability to beat Figuerora if he can manage that.
