Not a Thurman fan, but happy to explain the business realities of the situation.

Porter is his mandatory, not Garcia. Garcia might be the mandatory next year, but that would put Garcia in position to fight the Thurman/Spence winner. The Garcia rematch wouldn't be before Spence.

As for Porter before Spence, it doesn't make sense for Thurman or Spence to fight each other before the public has more time to familiarize themselves with Spence and the fight has more time to be built up.

PBC plans to have Thurman and Spence unify in March 2019 on CBS if both are still undefeated. To avoid the winner immediately being stripped, they're trying to clear up some of the mandatories first while also giving the fight more time to build.

We are hardcore fans. We want Thurman vs. Spence now, but it takes more time for the average fan to become aware of fighters and potential fights. One of the most effective ways to market a fight is to cause the hardcore fans to ***** and moan. That *****ing and moaning raises awareness among casuals that it's a fight they should want to watch.

If you delivered every fight the second hardcore fans wanted it, you'd never have any big fights because hardcore fans are always going to want fights before they have a chance to become big.

BS... imo. These guys aren't PPV fighters yet ..they need to build momentum fast with casuals. Attention spans are short nowadays.

      $#@&... dancing around the fight.

      Build what?.. wait does nothing.

Ok, thank you for your opinion. Is your opinion based on any experience building fights? The world's leading experts disagree with you. Is it possible they understand the business they make their living from better than you do?

Furthermore.... I think amongst casual observers,.. Thurman-Garcia was a letdown.. particularly in the 11th-12th round.

But for us who follow boxing a lot more,... we saw the fight as a whole as a tough technical fight.

But casual viewers were probably pissed at the end. lol.

...again. you can't build the fight if Thurman doesn't get his PR game together.

Thurman lost fans after the Garcia fight.. and he'll lose more delaying the fight with excuses.

Just the way it is. You need to understand the marketplace now.

He'll say he's building the fight.. but let's say the fight doesn't happen spring 2019... you going to stand for that crap?

Keith Thurman thinks he's Floyd Mayweather. If Keith loses that's his career over.

I fully expect Thurman will fight Spence in due time and I favour him to beat Spence.

My problem is Keith should just shut fck up....nothing wrong with him not bring ready and needing a tune up, then live body b4 stepping in with that monster.

But the stuff that comes out his mouth is rubbing even his most faithful fans the wrong way. He sound shook asf. And becoming a full-blown hypocrite ever since he won those titles....Damn Keith sometimes lying is the better option.

Atleast when Nelo was ducking it seemed like it was Moreso his promoter behind it and not him.

Are you speaking with any degree of insider knowledge here?... The tone of your post is fairly authoritative.. as, in fact I've noticed is often the case with your posts - I'm curious whether you have any professional connection to the sport, maybe to a promotion or governing body or is this simply affectation and informed speculation?
