see this is compete bullshiet. Nobody in America still doesn’t know who Alvarez is. They haven’t built him up.

What makes this even more of a fabricated lie by the Showtime propaganda machine is nobody in America knew who Tommy Karpency or Dmitry Sukhotski are either. And nobody ever liked the horrible style of Sakio Bika who PBC wasted a prime CBS slot to air a garbage fight.

Stop the BS. Showtime wont buy an unknown unbeaten Alvarez but will green light Karpency who’s a club fighter and a shot Bika who’s always made for bad tv? See this is how u lose credibility.

They put him on Showtime Championship Boxing the same night as Stevenson and he beat a big name (Pascal). How else are they supposed to build him up? If Michel can land another name opponent, Showtime will put Alvarez on again to build to him facing the Stevenson-Jack winner. The only way to get the Showtime audience familiar with Alvarez is to put him on Showtime.

Pretty quick way to lose your credibility. The Karpency fight wasn't even on Showtime and the Sukhotski fight was a SHO boxing special edition, essentially a glorified episode of SHObox. It was not Showtime Championship Boxing. Showtime spent peanuts on the Sukhotski fight.

Showtime would have gladly paid peanuts to put Stevenson-Alvarez on a Friday night special edition years ago, but if GYM wants big Showtime Championship Boxing money, Showtime wants Alvarez built up more.

        False. That's not what happened.

First of all, he was going to Showtime to fight Hopkins, which at the time was considered the bigger fight. So you can't blame a guy for wanting the biggest fight possible.

But more importantly, HBO had matching rights and it was Stevenson's job to go get the biggest offer possible and then present it to HBO. Stevenson was very happy to fight Kovalev, HBO just had to match Showtime's offer. HBO refused to match because they didn't think Kovalev would win and figured it was better to just let Stevenson walk rather than let him potentially beat Kovalev and then walk.

as he has done with every decent fighter.
Bellew's not a decent fighter? The guy Stevenson knocked out before he became WBC cruiserweight world champion and then became a star at heavyweight?

Grandpa Stevenson wasted away his opportunity. All that with Kov was a bunch of Kov backing out, but five years as champ and Jack will be his toughest test. The Bellew win looks a little bit better now, but not anything great.

Stevenson is a 40 year old and this will be just his third fight in three years. Old age and inactivity have to catch up sometime. Not to mention, no one really knows how good/great he really is because of his level of opposition. Jack and Alvarez are probably better than anyone else Superman has ever defended against.

Perhaps, Alvarez is smart to wait. He probably believes Stevenson will beat Jack, which will just make Stevenson at least six months older for Alvarez. And if Jack wins, Alvarez probably believes he has a better chance against Jack anyway. Showtime didn't want Stevenson-Alvarez and a lot of that is Stevenson. Fighting has beens once a year on cable television doesn't really bring much attention, media, hype. Jack is probably more well-known than Adonis is at this point.

bika was on CBS. U leave that out.

They had a credible opponent for Alvarez. His name is The Nail. Beating Oleksandr Gvozdyk would do a lot for Alvarez. Many people are high on him and that fight could have easily been made on showtime. And if it went to espn it is only because it was for a boat load of money.

the Bika fight was terrible as couple have been predicted after Ward fought Bika on showtime. And this was on showtimes parent network.

You said alvarez needs a credible opponent to be approved to be on showtime. He had one and they past. Am I right or wrong?

                  ^^This.

Adonis Stevenson is a fighter who I so have wanted to get behind. Fan friendly style and one punch KO power. I think he is a talented fighter. I also am beyond frustrated with where his career has ended up and I no longer care who ducked who. I have wanted to see him in a real fight with a serious, dangerous opponent.

Badou Jack is a way better test and much better opponent than Eleider Alvarez. Period. Stevenson will prove his worth, or Jack will beat him silly. It is that simple. Easily his biggest test since he won the belt.

It was a time buy fight. An infomercial essentially. Showtime didn't pay for the fight. So you listed a bunch of fights Showtime either didn't pay for, or paid peanuts for. Thus making your entire position ridiculous.

I said if Alvarez is facing a name, Showtime will show the fight. The name you suggested, Showtime would have bought had the fight been offered, but it wasn't offered. The fight being on ESPN does nothing for GYM and nothing for SHO. Learn how the business works.

He ducked Kovalev, Hopkins and Pascal. He held a rematch against a guy who was KO'd in the first round in his previous fight. Wont even fight Alvarez. Fact of the matter is he has nobody of note since Dawson. First meaningful fight in years. Yeah sit there and keep lying to yourself. Bellew a star? His biggest wins are BJ Flores and a shell of David Haye. Kovalev faced superior competition and you claim he ducked the ducker? Stevenson is worth dog **** these days. He made himself irrelevant by lack of competition. Kovalev dont need that paper champ. Jack taking the belt wait and see.
