No it doesn't. It doesn't mean that at all. First off the IBF doesn't allow step aside deals. Ponamarev just gave up his spot completely. Second, Porter already said he would just sit out and wait for his mandatory against Thurman. Third Danny will be the next mandatory if he beats Rios. Fourth, Jessie Vargas is not going to go fight Errol Spence in his backyard in Dallas. Even if Ocampo drops his ranking with IBF, Spence would have to fight the next rated contender.

What this means is Spence will fight a showcase fight which we already knew and that Jessie Vargas will be on the shelf at least 7 months. He got a tune up to shake the rust off but now the rust will be back on. smh. The earliest the next Showtime date will be available is in July if they even do a card that month

All of the undercards have not been announced yet. Lara-Hurd, Thurman-TBA, Stevenson-Jack, Spence-TBA have no undercarda plus FS1 and Fox shows.

This motherfu#%|!!’ i knew vargas would be wayyyyy to much of a risk to thurman! i knew it!!! i been saying vargas is no tune up and was actually surprised when i heard the rumors that keith was going to fight him in his first fight back from injury! If u guys think its going to be porter your out of your mind!!!! these guys are all letting me down man. they all full of ish!!! thurman calling errol a young buck but yet he only a year older than him! been giving nothing but excuses about fighting errol! i cant believe how much thurman has changed from before he had any titles to now! again he is fos!! porter is right there with him!!!! “ im not allowed to fight spence”.... smfh!!!! your a ***n prize FIGHTER man!!! have some dignity! that goes for garcia too!

That is partly true. Maybe Vargas has lost his main event status and is now relegated to co feature status. Thurman-TBA and Stevenson-Jack are the same tv card and different venues. Thats an expensive card that likely won't have a televised undercard besides those two fights

Vargas is a tune up. What are you talking about? And even then Thurman won't face a tune up smfh!!! Vargas won 1 more rounds than you and I did vs Pacquiao and Bradley. He won won 1 round combined in two fights vs faded versions of both men
