Great line up. I can't wait for these fights. As a fan of where the heavyweight division is going....I wonder why the aj vs parker fight wasn't on the roster. Especially since they made him part of the promotion today. I think Espinoza chose not to use his last option for a Joshua fight in order to force aj vs wilder to happen before Hearn tries to take aj to HBO. If that's the case.....smart move by Espinoza and a great move for boxing.

There's no way that Joshua-Parker doesn't end up airing in the US, and there's no way that Showtime lets HBO outbid them on a fight that likely sets Showtime's only PPV event of the year.

If anything, the deal is still being negotiated and, not unlike with other dates announced, Showtime isn't committing to anything until it's officially done.

Ducking a*s lol he's completely free for that Spence beating in June. A little step aside money will take care of that IBF mandatory with no issues.

Shawn Porter is holding onto that Thurman mandatory with all of his energy, lol; if anything, with the Showtime schedule now confirmed through June, you may see him fight on a FOX date.

With Thurman fighting in May, Porter is basically looking at sitting out until Octoberber or something.

Of course the PBC guys aligned with HBO/Hearn/Warren were not here.

Truax is heading back to the UK to fight Degale, and Vargas is basically TBA for Keith Thurman.

You add the talk of Collazo-Berto 2 (which could basically be chief support for any of these shows looking for a chief support) and Russell Jr's next fight is basically going to be his mandatory defense (against Joseph Diaz Jr, at some point in the second half of the year, tbh), and you've got things mostly explained.

No idea what Porter is doing though; maybe he's literally going to wait until fighting Keith Thurman in the Fall.

July 2018 hasn't been announced yet, lol. It's pretty obvious that Gary Russell Jr doesn't love boxing, even though he's really good at it.

He's got the money that he's earned (outside of paying the taxman, Haymon, and the lawyer who likely looks over his contracts, he basically keeps the rest of his money in house), he's likely been smart in how he's invested his money (you never see or hear about GRJ tricking off his money on ****** stuff), and he takes care of his body (doesn't seem to blow up in weight, which likely means that he's keeping in the gym working out).

I like the kid, but Joseph Diaz Jr hasn't been put into the ring with the type of competition to truly get him ready for Gary Russell Jr.

Gary Russell Jr is all of 29 years old, had only 175 amateur fights, keeps fit, and has never taken a beating in a fight (even in the Lomachenko fight, he didn't take all that much punishment).

He could literally take a fight a year, for ten years, and still be just fine, if that's the move.
