Comments Thread For: Boyd Melson Stands Out as One of Boxing's Good Guys

By Thomas Gerbasi - Boyd Melson has a way of making us all look bad. It's not intentional, of course, but one look at the body of work he's compiled in a little more than 36 years on this Earth can make you question some of the decisions you've made in life. Like the first responders who run to danger and not away from it, the former junior middleweight prospect from New York has always opted to give and not receive...

I don't know who this Boyd Melson is. I've never heard of him before and doubt I will ever come across his name again. What I do know, is the top story should always have something to do with Spence. It is like everyone is all jittery and refuses to admit how truly special Spence is in the ring. The verdict is in though: Spence is the top p4p fighter in the sport right now and will be for the foreseeable future. People want to see something about Spence, not some outback. No disrespect to whoever this guy is, but he is not Spence and no one cares about this Boyd fellow. That is if he is even real.

We've been talking a storm up about Spence before and after his fight. The last three daily headlines have been about Spence and I'm sure within the week we'll have another Spence headline.

Dumba.ss post. Why do you even bring this ****** s.hit on such a good story? We all know Spence is good but how many stories do you want to see about it.

If he is even real, wtf does that even mean? He is a boxer with a truly unique story. Not only is he a veteran, who is voluntarily being deployed again but in a time where everyone measures how good they are by how much they get paid, this guy donated every dollar he made in the ring. This was a better read than anything they could have said about Spence.

My first thought: Wow. Awesome human being.

              Way to go, Boyd!
