Because they arent getting fighters who have a big enough fanbase to justify puttting the fights on t.v. thats why. Sure the concept is great having a tournament, but if the top fighters arent competing will it really matter in the big scheme of things? It will just be an extention of Pbcs mediocre fights except with ****tier competition. The top fighters will still be fighting on t.v. and thats whats important to me. I could care less about watching Aaron Herrera vs. Rod Salka, those arent t.v. worthy fights regardless if its a tournament. Imagine Arum having a bunch of nobodies fighting each other in a tournament on Espn you would be the first one to blast him for it

        bob is a road block....
According to Eric Gomez Bob is a roadblock but the truth is Golden Boy and Top Rank have been at odds for many years, look at all the bad stuff theyve said in the media to each other abd the lawsuits abd on Top of it they are competing and now fight on different networks. Golden Boy is as much to blame for the cold war as Top Rank. They have came together and made fights in the past, Arum even let Pacquiao fight DLH when he was a huge underdog and after Oscar tried to lure Pacquiao away with a briefcase of cash and Arum sued. Jessie Vargas fought on a Golden Boy card as an underdog against Sadam Ali. Mauricio Herrera fought on Time Bradleys undercard. They need to come together abd figure out a way to make it work. Golden Boy isnt really a player anymore but they do have a couple interesting fights like Machado Loma and Linares Loma. I think whoever is the A side should fight on their home network, or just put the fights on both networks. Theyve made lots of fights in the past they can figure it out.

I think right now would be a PERFECT time to make a KILLING on ESPN. Put it on Saturday night primetime 7-8ish main event about 9ish Eastern time. No College football or NFL on until Sept.

How many bars/Restuarants have HBO or Showtime??? I LOVE when fights are on free tv or ESPN. Go to Dave and Busters or Buffalo Wild Wings and watch it!!! *** even Hooters or a strip club....I got laughed at last time I went to a strip club and asked if they had HBO and could put on the fight. She looked at me like ????
That happened to me a couple of years ago homie. Took a trip with one of my b-itches to Washington to visit her family and they had a real good fight on Showtime that weekend. Her family didn't watch boxing or had Showtime so I went driving around town looking for a bar or restaurant to see if they were gonna show the fight and that's when I realized no bar or restaurant carried Showtime or HBO. I was like WTF! So I missed out on the ****ing fight. I was pissed!
But on another note, I think HBO knows they falling off the boxing radar so I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a strong play for Mythesse-Pacquiao. I think that's the fight Golden Boy President Eric Gomez is referring too.. If Mythesse wins this Saturday I can see Golden Boy and Top Rank matching them two guys together. But the TV network might be an issue

"I think we had a lot of success last year because we took some risks. We did fights with other promoters and that's what its all about. You're going to win some and you're going to lose some - but at the end of the day the fans win.”

"I think that a lot of success that we had last year is because we worked with everybody. We worked with PBC to do the Chavez and Canelo fight and it was very successful.”

Not, I repeat, NOT a good example of a fight to mention when you want to use “the fans win” as a selling point....just sayin’
