  • Porter has right to stay away from Spence if he chooses but that was a lame excuse. It's one thing to lose a fight but when you're getting beat up in the process you kinda understand not wanting to fight someone like Spence. Porter saw his future last night when Spence put a beating on Peterson. He is no hurry to take on those kind of problems.

He hasn't got super power at 140. I give him 7/10 for power at 140.

If he can't improve on that at 147 he's not keeping Spence off him at 147 - its not like he never gets tagged in fights.

      • One thing after this display - don't see Mikey wanting to have anything to do with 147. He'll meet Danny at 142/3 as suits both.

Was thinking about that too. He'll stay at 140 for sure now and pick off the scraps in catchweight fights.

What's more hilarious, is when you hear thurman fans pass that fight off like it's a fight that HAS to happen after Thurman fights Vargas. It's a rematch ffs.

Exactly right. It's not as if beating Spence for the IBF belt will kill his shot at fighting Thurman. It's smoke and mirrors, we know the truth.

It'll happen...just not anytime soon. If Spence or Thurman has 3 belts, and Crawford wants to unify, Bob isn't going to stand in the way. None of these guys are Mayweather or Pacquiao.

Agreed, Crawford likes to exchange way too much. He's not some slick fighter that stays on the outside. Unless he is stronger than we think, I don't see him being able to beat Spence.

              • Look you can't accuse Porter of ducking after fighting Thurman, BUT if he gets offered a fight with Spence in 2018 for the IBF belt he isn't going to take it?! He bloody well should!

Doesn't matter what internet fans demand. Thurman vs Spence will happen in early 2019 and will be a much bigger fight then.

Bud does have power. And it's not like Spence doesn't get tagged either. The difference in skill is big imo.

And if he comes at Bud, it'll be over sooner. Bud has a jab and he is a body puncher. And he can float.

Passing on an opportunity that wasn't offered? Which would require passing on an opportunity that has been offered and is guaranteed? That's not how life works.

Want whatever you want. Haymon is going to do what he's going to do. The current plan is for Thurman to fight twice in 2018. Jesse Vargas and Shawn Porter. If Thurman wins both fights, then he'll fight Errol Spence in early 2019.

Spence likely fights Devon Alexander next in a homecoming fight, if Alexander wins convincingly against Victor Ortiz. Then Spence would make a mandatory defense for his final fight of 2018.

Danny Garcia is being positioned to fight the Thurman/Spence winner later in 2019.
