Comments Thread For: Joshua Promoter: Wilder Can't Be Delusional With 50-50 Demand

Fact is both men make very similar money. Wilder makes about 1 mill per fight, the most being $1.5 mill.
Parker's fights are all PPV in New Zealand where they charge about $40 USD for a PPV, though obviously in a much smaller market. But his fight with Andy Ruiz Jr was expected to break the NZ PPV record which was 88K. Even if he only sold 80K he generated $3.2 mill USD.
Wilder arguably brings less to the table unless he can get the fight as a PPV in the US. So currently I say 65/53 split is more than fair for Wilder.
But if Wilder/Ortiz sells well and he keeps growing his brand in the US and Showtime agree to put it on as PPV then even a 50/50 split isn't as crazy as it currently seems.Comment

Why is Hearn talking about this fight? AJ has Parker and then Pedvetkin, but it looked like Fury would be in front of Wilder hence all this crap from Hearn, no way would Wilder get 50%, he knows it, we all knows it. If they get to that point and Wilder really wants 50% then I would call it a clear duck by Wilder.
The interesting wild card is Fury. Is Hearn trying to keep him from Warren by dangling a quicker meeting with AJ? Are they trying to neutralise his threat by getting him in the ring before he's in top shape? Or is it just smoke to maintain column inches and build the current fight?Comment

Is the roles were reversed and it was Wilder making $20m a fight and had 3 more belts etc and AJ was demanding a 50/50 split all you Wilder fans would be slating AJ saying he's ducking and doesn't deserve it.... Stop blindly following the fighter you like the most and apply some logic.Comment

Sure, in principle Joshua is the bigger draw and should therefore have a bigger piece of the pie, but let's not mistake what this is, it's just excuse making. Hearn never even tried to negotiate with Wilder's team, he just wants to put the more dangerous fight further back so he can make money off of easy ones first.Comment

It's fair enough if you think that all of this is just excuses from Hearn, but let's try not to post flat out lies in order to make your point eh?Comment

lol First of all, I could careless what happens to Wilder. I didn't even know people called him windmill, but it makes sense since he mostly just swings for the fences. He basically talks a little too much for my liking and he really hasn't proved anything to me yet. lol But I think he is way better than Joshua. Look we all know Joshua has more draw money-wise because he got the big fights and a better promoter. If Wilder had a better promoter he would've got that Klitschko fight. But he's still willing to go to the UK to fight Joshua on his home court and other than Klitschko, they pretty much have the same resume. Both with a decent amount of KO's. And as a boxing fan, I want to see this **** happen and to not accept 50/50 when you both have the belt and same resume. In America, we call that a "***** move". Which kind of tells me he's scared and he should be.Comment
