Is manny still taking drug tests, because when he wasnt he had a "growth , spurt" at 28-29 ,gained muscle and increased his endurance at the SAME TIME! If they dont PED test him, maybe the "old manny" will suddenly appear vs lesser competition. Then if he gets a BIG win, he will be put in vs a "killer" who has legit drug testing and go out "on his shield"...oops he went out on his face with JMM standing over him, spitting and cursing at him

I remember somebody said Arum was gonna feed Manny to Rios back when Rios was undefeated. Yeah he fed him to Rios alright. Manny isn't the opponent. He's not fighting no Terence Crawford or Jeff Horn. He knows he isn't on that level anymore. Thats why he ducked the Horn rematch. That first fight took it all out of him. He experienced up close and personal how foolish it was to think Horn was an easy fight. The media and fans are also trying to tell Crawford its an easy fight when in reality it isn't. Maybe TC is smart enough to realize that because if he doesn't then he's in trouble. This ain't no Indongo.

You don't have to swing too many arcs to try and figure out where Manny has been for many years already. He's a shell of his 28-31 year old prime self. His style was always meant for a youthful body that could go hard 12 rds throwing nonstop combinations on the aggressive.

Typically an aggressive, loads of energy fighting style has the shortest career due to the requirement of youth. Pac was able to carry forward with a few more impressive wins after his prime years (28-31) by changing up his style to be a bit more counter puncher and patient. To me, that was always an excuse for a required change-up due to his body not allowing him the relentless pressure style he was able to achieve in his prime. This took him out of character and out of what made him who he was in his prime and early career.

If anyone thinks Pac has a further career in boxing outside of collecting paychecks for himself and seeing how his promoter can use him to hype up his next big star, they would be blind.

Nobody is invincible to father time and unless you put on a circus show and make enough people fall for it, you shouldn't be winning against younger fighters when you are nearly 40 years old or above and think that you just found a fountain of youth.

Yes, I thought Pac beat Horn, but that was unbiased. Horn was just so sloppy and an old sloppy version of himself Pacquiao did I thought enough to beat the young gun. That still doesn't mean I think Pac can reclaim the top of the division at all. I know he just has enough above basic boxing ability to beat a mediocre fighter in what Horn was and he did. I would still say, had they given Pac the win instead, he should of retired immediately. It was almost like a hint in disguise for Pac to just retire anyway.

If he had clearly lost against Horn or some lesser opponent... then ..this is fine..

But no... he beat convincingly Bradley, Vargas and got robbed against Horn.

Until someone beats him cleanly.. then this article is premature.

That said.. He is clearly not prime... and IMO should retire soon... I think he needs One last big fight...to get it out of his system...then retire

Anybody in his shoes with a brain would have retired right after JMM almost killed him. That KO surely left huge sequels for him both emotionally and physically.

But I've read he has never been a smart person when it comes to managing his money. And he is a nasty person when it comes to his political remarks. So nasty people usually owe money to nasty people and are maybe under life-threatening situations where they either pay or else.

So the formerly incredibly-entertaining fighter, needs to keep fighting to keep paying his dues and debts, apparently. He is still entertaining, but if he dares face a young and in-prime top fighter, he could get another brutal KO and finally retire.

As a few of you have eluded, Manny whooped a fighter in Horn who has turned out to be a lot better then anyone realized. He lost a sleeper to Floyed with a bum shoulder and convincingly beat every fighter since being knocked out by Marquez (a hall of famer) in a fight he looked to be ready to have gotten his own stoppage. All this Manny besmirching is completely contrasted by the fighter we have witnessed in the ring. Quit drinking the koolaid and watch the performances.
