  • Comments Thread For: Has Manny Pacquiao Finally Become The Opponent?

By Andreas Hale - Manny Pacquiao has reached that point of his career. You know, when he becomes an opponent rather than a challenger. Or, a name that a young fighter can put on their resume. His new role is every fighter's worst nightmare. Unfortunately, most boxers, no matter how good they are, experience this when on the wrong side of their career. After 23 years as a professional boxer, world titles in eight different weight classes and a legendary run that has earned him boatloads of money, Pacquiao is staring at the harsh reality of soon being known as a has-been...

Looks like it and that’s a bit sad. He needs to retire and focus on his family and political career.

You would put you money on Crawford , Spence and Thurman beating manny and big.Which at this stage doesn't leave Manny many good options He should have retired when mediocre Horn beat him but didn't seem to think he needed to go out of his way to rematch him.

It's obvious Manny is sadly there only for the money and I have little sympathy for him with the outrageous amounts he's earned during his long career

Desperate attempts to make big money fights have failed through lack of funding/interest.....Khan in the middle east.Conor Mcgregor and recently little (but a name) Lomachenko.

With his family , political career and wealth Manny should
walk away and more importantly keep his health in order. If not, like Roy it will be difficult to remember just how great he once was.

He won't retire until Bob tells him to. That's the reality of it, he's a puppet.

He's only fighting because he needs the money. Which is sad. But getting the real life Jar Jar Binks into political office costs a lot.

Another sad situation where a great fighter CLEARLY needs to just walk away, but his team and those around him allow him to continue.

It’s over, man. The Horn fight should have told them all that. Manny loses again to a bigger and more relevant name OR loses again to someone he should beat, he’s walking that dangerous line of going too far, where your previous greatness starts to become slightly forgotten as people are too busy wishing you’d go.
