Pascal has a much bigger following than Stevenson. Alvarez raised his profile considerably by getting Bute & Pascal's scalps on his resume.

Alvarez was not forced to step aside. He chose to step aside because doing so was more lucrative. This is a business. Stevenson vs. Alvarez two years ago was not a big fight. Nobody knew who Alvarez was. Now people know who he is because he faced two big names and beat them both. This is how you build a fighter.
alcarez was forced. Everyone knows it. Haymon told him hey ur gonna wait for ur Stevenson but we are going to give u this fight first.

Pascal and bute HAD bigger followings than Stevenson has ever had. But let’s be real his fight vs Pascal was an undercard fight. Alvarez was forced by his manager to take those fights and bide his time waiting for adonis. Adonis doesn’t want to fight alvarez. It’s plain as day. He said the fight isn’t big. But was a karpency fight Big? Lololol. Was there demand for a Fonfara rematch? Lololol just excuses.

Al has both fighters so he had to protect ones wishes and burn the other. U see what side he chose.

Hahahaha nothing you said changes anything I said. Alvarez took the Pascal fight because he was offered more for the Pascal fight. The promoter and network preferring that the world title fight go on last doesn't change who was paid what.

This is often how step aside deals work. You don't always literally pay the guy a specific step aside fee. You offer him an inflated purse for a different fight.

Nobody forced him to do anything. They gave him a fight that paid more, so he took it.

they made the offer so he wouldn’t push the Stevenson fight. Easy to see. Adonis doesn’t want the fight. Or else why Stevenson fight karpency or pointless Fonfara rematch. Haymon was doing adonis’ wishes and not alvarez.

Haymon was doing what was best for both fighters. Stevenson vs. Alvarez was VERY RISKY for *both* of them, but it wasn't a big fight or a big payday for either because nobody knew who Alvarez was yet. SHO wasn't going to pay any more for it than they would for a Fonfara rematch.

So in the interest of maximizing the revenue for both Stevenson and Alvarez, Alvarez was given big fights against Canadian legends so he could build his profile. He was paid more for those fights than he would have made fighting Stevenson.

no he wasn’t. Pascal was an undercard fight. His purse wasn’t very big at all. If he beat Stevenson he would get way bigger purses after. What are u going to say now that showtime paid more to karpency than what they would have paid alvarez lmaooooo

Hahahaha I've tried to be civil, but you're such a ****ing idiot it's ridiculous. Stevenson was the "main event" in the eyes of Showtime, but Pascal was the bigger fight in the Canadian market.

Guys make more money in the co-feature than the B-side makes in the main event ALL THE TIME. You know absolutely nothing about how this business operates.

For example, VERY VERY common on premium cable for the main event to be an 80-20 split, the co-feature is a 50/50 split, and the co-feature guys are actually making more than the B-side in the main event (even if the main event purses are twice as much as the co-feature purses).

In addition to all of that, Alvarez was offered very generous co-feature purses so that he would agree to delay his title shot. This, also, happens all the time.

Welcome to the boxing business kiddo.

I'm not going to reveal his private information, but it's more than Fonfara made that night.
