Lomachenko only dominated one great fighter in 2017, which is enough for him to win FOTY. But I would also pick Crawford over Lomachenko.
Olympic Gold means d1ck in professional boxing. Rigo wasn't a great win because of Gold - it was because Rigo was undefeated and still in his prime. Comparing Crawford's opponents two divisions higher are ******ed. That's like me saying Joshua is better than Floyd because Wlad would crush Floyd.

The biggest joke award of the year goes to the midget whooping ultra cherrypicker in a yr when his only decent win was vs sosa. Its no surprise the white racist d*ksmokers are happy as fv*k about the white racist media treating lomas wins over midget bums as hall of fame worthy.

Its not even debatable that Crawford was fighter of the yr in 2017 or Ward, then you can either give it to Canelo,AJ,Ggg,then Mikey, then rungvasai if you're counting who had the best "wins". Lomachenko shouldn't even be top 5 fighter of the yr for beating a 40 yr old featherweight he made jump 2 divisions & who quit without even trying. It'll be like giving it to pac 4 beating loma in 2018 at 140 lbs... Foh

Just because a few people pick them doesn't mean much.

There was a lot of people saying that Rigo was going to beat Loma though. It wasn't just a few.

That's all people use to hype up Diaz. He was an Olympic Gold Medalist because he never did anything as a pro.
At least Sosa won a World Title and has better wins than Diaz has.
Also, Diaz was very lucky to get the Olympic Gold Medal.
The 2008 Olympics actually produced some great Gold Medalist, but Diaz was probably the worst one; he was down there at the very least.
He got at least one gift decision against Alex Vastine.
Felix Diaz was robbed against Lamont Peterson and stopped the hype train for Sammy Vasquez. People were also claiming on YouTube that Felix Diaz would dominated Crawford, and that Crawford was afraid of him. Now I know that YouTube isn't a relevant source, or a decent gauge on what hardcore boxing fans were saying leading up to that fight. But it gives you a picture of what people were saying before, in comparison to what people are saying after. Once Crawford dominated Diaz, people started saying Diaz was a bum and that Crawford was suppose to win.

People were also saying that Crawford vs Indongo was the most important fight of 2017, since it was for the UNDISPUTED championship for the junior Welterweight division. But after Crawford easily destroyed Indongo, now every is discrediting Crawford's victory. Meanwhile, people are giving a ton of credit to Lomachenko for dominating the naturally smaller boxer in Rigondeaux. And while it was a great victory for Lomachenko, even he admitted that it didn't add much to his overall legacy and status as a P4P elite. But these commentators and networks want to heavily promote European fighters over black and brown fighters. Which is sad, because Lomachenko's skill set is great enough to be marketed on it's own. But people like Teddy Atlas have to keep saying he's P4P number 1 with 11 ****ing fights. Which makes no sense.

Ward only had 1 fight in 2017. So it should of been Crawford, or Lomachenko. Because Canelo and Golovkin's fight ended in a draw. And Canelo fought a limited mental case with Chavez jr and Golovkin barely beat Danny Jacobs. Mikey Garcia had a great year, but Broner was inconsistent leading up to their fight and almost lost to Adrian Granados.

I think Crawford was as much as a 16-1 favorite over Indongo. Certainly not predicted to give Crawford a loss.
