His career wouldn't be over.

Depends how he gets beat. If Ortiz lands a good punch and it’s lights out, well **** happens at HW. Wouldn’t really hold it against him and would be interested to see how he bounces back. But then again I’ve never been a ball gargler for him and always felt he’s got a weak chin so meh.Comment

It would not be a big upset. Wilder is only about a 2 to 1 betting favorite. Boxers have come back from KO losses before. Somehow I don't think Wilder would ever be a big deal again if Ortiz wins by KO. What would Wilder do? Become a more careful cherry picker than he always has been?Comment

I wouldnt be surprised honestly and yes he could come back. Lennox Lewis came back each time from one punch starchings to perceived lesser fighters. I dont think Wilder is any where near Lewis's class but it wouldnt be the end of the world if he lost to Ortiz.Comment

He could still go after Joshua, only on Joshua's terms then... No more Vegas I guess... He would also have to play the B side, which he'll probably hate... Anyway I could see Ortiz flattening him... Wilder's been rocked around by much lesser opposition... Take his stamina away early, shake him, dictate the pace, negate the windmill and Ortiz has a good chance...

There's absolutely no chance that Haymon has not put a rematch stipulation in that contract between Wilder and Ortiz in the event Wilder loses (which I don't think he does tbh) so all it'd mean is that Wilder v Joshua wouldn't happen till winter. That's if Joshua beats Parker ofcourse...Comment

He would still have chance to bounce back but he will cherry pick for the next 2 to 3 fights before a real challenge again. A lot of people would dog him and his name for years to come and it be Ortiz vs Joshua not the other way around.Comment
