Comments Thread For: Spence: Thurman, Garcia, Porter Wouldn't Answer Call to Fight Me

NEW YORK Errol Spence Jr. didn't mean any disrespect to Lamont Peterson. They continued to demonstrate strong regard for one another at a press conference Thursday in Manhattan for their fight Saturday night. Despite the lopsided odds on their fight, Spence expects a real challenge from Peterson when they square off at Barclays Center in Brooklyn (Showtime; 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT).

Worth mentioning that - allegedly - Spence was offered Cotto final fight (with GBP promo implications), but turned it down.

      Bit mistake imho

He's totally correct but still don't know why he's calling Thurman out knowing that Thurman was out with injury. He rarely talks about Terence Crawford though that's the fight that people want to see

Spence knows Thurman was injured, he cant expect him to fight you as his comeback fight, c'mon now Errol you wouldnt do that yourself if you were coming off an injury.

Thurman I understand because of the elbow injury but Porter and Garcia have no excuse. They have the perfect opportunity to fight for a belt and they're quiet as a mouse. Pathetic.

All the man can do is answer the questions ..... He said in this interview that Thurman is coming off a injury and directed it towards - Porter and Garcia, as far as Crawford goes, let him have his first 147 pd fight - Crawford isint calling Spence out for his first fight, he is calling Thurman and Horn out - yes he has been vocal about facing Spence, but not as his first foray into 147

I am very surprised that Porter (Thurman & Garcia doesn't surprise me at all) declined a shot at Spence Jr.! Maybe it was the IBF weight rules? Even then, that's a weak excuse! Why wait for Thurman to have elbow surgery and a tune-up, when Spence Jr. was available?

ESJ beats Garcia easy... idk why I think hes on the bottom with Thurman.. ESJ.. Porter.. Garcia at 140 was a beast but these guys at 147 are solid 147 pound fighters. Thurman beat him easy & I dont think he can deal with porters style of fighting
