    It's interesting.

I think it's true to some extent. But the issue is that when a heavyweight does have some skill with the power they tend to dominate the division.

Look at wlad. He had a really good jab for years and that was almost enough to win and defend several belts

If you think Foreman wasn't skilled you don't know what you're watching. All Wilder is proving is that the division is weak.

Don't forget his holding and reach. Not much a smaller fighter can do when he gets tied up every time he gets in range.

Foreman had skills but there are ten heavyweights who were more skilled than him. I'm just saying that Wilder is probably changing the way we view boxing. He telegraphs his punches and he is very wild, yet he keeps winning for some reason

He was coming off of a bicep surgery and a broken right hand. He was a little reluctant early on in the fight and he gave up some early rounds. But he was never in any real danger in the Washington fight. In fact the first right hand he threw ended the fight.

Before wlad-Fury I didn't think much of Wlads career long height advantage..

Then I saw how confused he looked at the slightly taller Fury. He really didn't like the angle the punches were coming from, above

This is a point that I mentioned in another thread. As a USA boxing fan, I pull for DW but I don't hold back in saying he's not the most polished heavy out there. In fact early in his career my friend was all on his jock while I was telling him that Wilder needs to develop his skills.

The proof will be in the pudding when AJ & DW get together because I think AJ has put more into developing his fundamentals and he has showed me that he can make adjustments during a fight, which a lot of fighters can't do. Now if they meet and DW KOs his azz, it will really open the door for the argument that pure speed and power can negate ring generalship and skills. It's the edge DW has over AJ in my view.

Now if JP upsets AJ in March that might blow my chances of seeing what will prevail.

*Wilder said "all you need is power" ??? ........ I think he's holding back on the other half of the equation, speed.
                SPEED BEATS POWER

                    Not Ortiz or Parker.

They aren't very skilled fighters, especially Ortiz who mainly relay on his SP stance.

Hes only saying this **** because he hasnt actually fought anyone good. When he actually faces someone with skills he will look like a deer in headlights. Luis Ortiz might be that guy but hes old af and has high blood pressure.
