Lomachenko should not pass up such an opportunity. If he passes up and Crawford fights and beats Pacquiao then where would Lomachenko go now? Back to fighting Marriaga's and Sosa's in the world while hoping Leo Santa Cruz moves up? There is no guarantee we would get big fights from him at 130 since guys back there are too busy wanting more money, well the Pacquiao fight is gonna be the one providing more Lomachenko more star power, which means more money for the opponents to entice them to fight him after he beats Pacquiao.Comment

If Loma turns this down and still has trouble finding some fights since other champions refuses to unify, then it's their fault.Comment

I agree look at how much attention Jeff Horn has gotten from beating Pacquiao. He went from a nobody to now making millions fighting Crawford on Espn. It was the most watched fight on cable imagine how big a Pacquiao Loma fight would be. I think Loma beats him if they could do a catchweight at 138. Although Horn was 15 lbs heavier than pacquiao and barely won a decision, now Pacquiao would be a few pounds heavier than Loma so who knows what could happen. I think its a great fight and would be Lomas best opponent for sure but I still think he would get a lot of credit for fighting Pacquiao who most people think beat Jeff Horn.
But if you can't get opponents to fight you on your fast schedule, then you can't forge the legacy you want. Just look at how GGG's career has suffered because he never got the torch passed from a star like Pacquiao early in his career. This is the one chance for Loma to have that, but Egis seems to underrate that.
With that said, if they have Berchelt lined up for April now that Mijares is out, that's the best fight at 130 not involving duckers, so maybe they feel they can finally get all the other guys at 130 in the ring with them now. maybe now they feel they have the commercial appeal, after beating Rigo, to actually get these fights on their schedule even without Pacquiao passing the torch. And if they can fully unify 130 by the end of 2018, that could have a similar effect in raising his profile, as well as perhaps helping his legacy even more, than fighting Pacquiao. But to unify 130 before the end of 2018, he needs to fight three more champions in his next three fights. Just because they can get Berchelt to fight them doesn't mean they can get anyone else. But, maybe they know something we don't?
And Loma will probably never be better than he is at 130, so if this means more of seeing the best at his best, that's also not a bad thing. So, we dont know what they know, or what the plan is, but I'm just saying, it better be good, with lots of top opponents already lined up, for them to pass on Pacquiao, provided, of course, that Pacquiao is still willing to come down to 135. At 140, the size advantage could be massive.Comment

Does it really change my point? Casual fans aren't going to see it that way, they didn't see the Rigo win that way and he was old and way too tiny. A complete mismatch. Point is, whether the fight is on HBO or ESPN or FS1 or whatever, Arum has enough puppets and shills in the boxing media to spin the narrative into something really good for Loma.Comment
