Exactly, and the trick is to convince the poor people in your own country that their poverty has been caused by poor people from other countries coming in, stealing jobs, keeping wages down, etc, and that only you understand this and are going to do something about it.

doesnt appealing/fueling racists make you a racist though? its like saying hitler wasnt against ***s he was just using them to further his agenda. maybe he really was super progressive in his heart but we can only judge his actions and words.

cept the norway thing contradicts his whole "merit" based immigration approach. if it was simply about merit there are well educated and rich people from african countries just like norway. by merit each person should have the opportunity to come but hes trying to do a blanket ban on certain countries where the population is mostly black/brown. he threw merit out the window with those comments.

Can't say i'm a supporter of his but he is fair from a failure in life. Even if he did have a great starting point, he's still a very successful business man and now President...

It's a fact that the majority of African migrants are driven out of their own countries by poverty. Scandinavian countries like Norway have the lowest poverty rates and the best social care systems in the world. Unless they they have a job lined up somewhere else, poor Norwegians stay in Norway!
