Aboriginal is just another name for native or indiginous, although its mostly used to describe the native australians who left Africa 70,000 years ago and ended up in Australia where they have been living for 40,000 years. The world is full of ancient tribes like this but they are the oldest outside of Africa

By skin colour? There's a wide range. Mundine is probably towards the lighter end of the spectrum. In terms of their role and position in Australian society though it's probably analogous in some ways to the situation of African Americans in the US (although of course they were never technically enslaved) though the more obvious historical fit would be with the Native American peoples.
