Keith Thurman would be a bigger star if he wasn't always hurt. He's fought decent competition lately. But one thing that is not winning over New fans is that he's known as a trash talker which is great for self promotion and promoting fights, but he's hesitant to engage in trash talk with Spence. Keith was open about Danny Garcia and open about Shawn Porter but he's not like that with Spence. I think a fight with Vargas is good for him coming back from injury. And hopefully Keith can fight at least twice this year. As for Vargas this is a good fight for him to show the welterweight division he's a legit threat to the top fighters.

No, that's not true. Everybody was saying Thurman doesn't want to fight Porter, he's scared, he's the one holding the fight up etc because that fight took a very long time to make, then when it got pushed back, everybody was saying Thurman faked the car accident because he's scared etc.

This show how clueless you are about the boxing world. PBC usually fight each other, 1, because the fights are obviously easier to make, 2, and most importantly, because PBC get their fighters big paydays. Thurman-garcia each guy got 2 mils for that fight. Loma-Rigo, which was arguably top rank most hyped fight of 2017, Rigo only got $400k!! What fighter wants to fight for half the money their worth. Once GBP and TR start offering decent paydays, you'll see PBC fighters fight them more often.

BTW, you argue Spence would he better of signing with TR...well, he's a free agent. Why do you think he hasn't signed with TR or any other promotion company? Why you think Mikey and chavezJr fought so hard to break free from TR? Why you think then they all finally break free from their promotion company, they all end up with Haymon? Connect the dots..

People did say those things about Thurman I'm not denying that, that's true what you're saying. But I was referring to Thurman trash talk. He was open to Danny Garcia and open to Shawn Porter but he's not like that with Spence as far as trash talk. He's more politically correct when talking about Spence and wanting the fight to marinate until 2019.

He's injured and wants to see how things work out, so he's not going to make any promises. I don't think there's anything more than that.

maybe he has a good shot of landing the fight but he doesnt have a good shot of winning it. hes not a bum, hes a solid respectable fighter but vargas isnt a guy whos going to be able to beat guys like thurman.

I honestly don't think Thurman will take this fight. Too risky coming off of surgery and more than a year lay off.
