ogawa, iwasa, inoue, higa, kimura, taguchi (unified), shiro, tanaka, kyoguchi, yamanaka.

USA also has 10, actually 11 if we still count crawford as a champ.

wilder, charlo, hurd, ali, thurman (unified), spence, garcia, easter jr., russel jr., magdaleno, (crawford).

Russia has 6, UK is down to 5, Mexiko 5, Thailand 3, philippines 2, ukraine 2.

Also kazachstan, venezuela, Latvia, new zealand, australia, cuba, puerto rico and south africa each have one champion. In tota 17 different countries.

6 titles are vacant right now.
I don’t believe Yamanaka is still champion, he lost to Nery last year.

And not one notable win between them. Who cares if Japan has that many champions, it doesn't count in them weights. Most western countries don't produce men small enough to fight in them divisions. Here in the UK we eat a good amount of calories and protein.

            Ohhh, okay I see.

So Japan would be in-line to have 11 world champions if the other Yamanaka wins his rematch with Nery.

japanese need to apologise to China first, I don't care how many champions they have, the fact is CHINA would WHOOP japan in a war. So yeah, I don't even care you can have this little 'victory', China is hard to get into pro-boxing while japan have it easy.

The way I see it is China 1 japan 0

                  I thought Mexico had more.

9 if you count interim titles and The Ring, if not, then I think we have 7. I remember reading not too long ago we had 8 but can't figure who lost recently.

yeah, i somehow missed the smw at first and didnt count gilberto ramirez.
I only counted the big four belts without interim and regular. Everyone is complaining about the wba mess, so no need to count them.
20 years from now, I really hope no boxing historian is going to recognize regular belts as proper beltholders.

That is the difference between robert guerrero the 2-weight division champ or robert guerrero the 4 weight division champ (interim titles at 135 and 147).
