yeah i tipped trout, if you pick against cotto in tough fights you will end up getting most of your picks right. never understood why it was such a big shock when cotto lost/put in a poor performance. Would have thought people would have been used to it by that point

The fight was made for Cotto to lose imo. Iirc it was part of a contract for fighting Floyd, wasn't it? Like Al Haymon had options on Cotto for one more fight or something like that. I remember feeling like the fight was made to make Trout look good. For the record, I scored the fight a draw.

great point, didn't think of that (about another fight with Al).

If Cotto did better and should've won, then you're right, maybe he wouldn't have gotten the nod anyways since Al would've bought off the judges already. So for Cotto, he was in a lose lose situation.

I remember I picked Trout to upset Cotto but I think I posted it on another forum (must be on EastSide).
I also picked Trout over Alvarez.

Trout was a boxer I liked from my state of New Mexico. I thought he had a good chance to win and I was rooting for him. I didn't predict he would win because Cotto is such a favorite there. They scored the fight fairly and Trout easily won. Maybe if Freddy had trained Cotto he would have done better or won. Cotto seems to fight better trained by Freddy except for his last fight when he looked terrible.

I did and so did Bushbaby. We were his fan squad back then lol I won a load of points through bets on here and a few bucks at the online bookies
No one was picking him so it was easy to clean up

I remember when GGG was unknown ...that was also easy pickings early on both here and at the betting shops

Roach definitely put some life back into Cotto's career. I thought he was done after Trout, too small to have any impact above 147. He still wasn't anything great with Freddie but he looked far more comfortable and confident. Pedro Diaz prepared him well for Floyd but he probably wasn't the right fit for Cotto.

I did yes. I've predicted 1,176 fights, and of those I correctly predicted 1,175 of those. The only fight I got wrong was Sutherland/Rainford.
