Ignoring any comparisons between Ortiz to klitschko in this thread as there just isn't one , Ortiz resume is just as awful as wilder - unlike klitschko. klitschko proved himself in the fight, but also many experts tipped him beforehand - that's really not the case here.

Having said that, even despite how bad Ortiz has been in the last few fights it's still a better sign from wilder to move to the fringes of heavyweight boxing and once he wins this one comfortably should hopefully then move onto one of the real meaningful fights in my opinion a whyte, pulev or povetkin preferably.

I'm reading this from a few fans "how bad Ortiz has been in the last few fights " What do you call bad? Every time I see him, he is dominating his opponent. Do you mind explaining how do you grade fights? Maybe some of us can learn something. Thanks in advance...

I think he let aj off the hook. He was afraid to gas out, is the only reason I can think why he didn't went after him. My believe is that, he could has finish him in that round. aj was out and couldn't defend properly. For some reason klit didn't go after him.

No matter what Windmill Wilder fans and/or Ortiz haters say, this is a true 50/50 fight. I for one am definitely looking forward to it.

ortiz is 175 years old we all know cuban athletes lie on birth certificates.

vada purposely made ortiz fail a test to make him older for wilder.

ortiz is a damn bum anyway.

... there I said everything you're gonna hear when wilder flatlines ortiz.

With that being said im glad Wilder is finally stepping up and taking a real challenge. Now we can finally see what hes got because lets be real up until now Wilder has fought all bums and mediocre opposition. Stiverne was his toughest opponent and he was an out of shape tub of goo so we still dont know how well he can do against top tier competition. Luis Ortiz is a pretty good test but I think Wilder wins a decision. Wilder is a beast and has sick power. I hope this leads to a Joshua fight next or a whyte fight and then Joshua
Ortiz should have claimed the medication. Easy as that. it was on the banned list for a reason, likely a masking agent. Not like Ortiz didn't already have a strike against him for PED use

If he makes it look too good and dominating they will say Ortiz was too old just like did did when Loma fought Rigo, but before the fight they always say how good of an opponent it is. Couldnt it be that Loma is that good? If Wilder dominates like he did to Stiverne I think you have no choice to give him respect, Luis Ortiz is a huge undefeated heavyweight with 24 kos in 28 fights and knocked out Bryant Jennings and Tony Thompson. He is old but hes still knocking everyone out. Probably taking peds but i bet most of the top boxers do
yeah, that's what I'm thinking. They're going to say "Ortiz is over the hill, Wilder ducked him until he was too old" meanwhile Wilder hasn't ducked anyone, and had two top 5 ranked opponents piss dirty right before the fight.

You don't know ****, contrary what you believe, Cuban athletes are check from their beginning. Opposite coach check the birth certificate, place and school where they are going, just to see if the kids can compete in that region. and that is when they are 8 tears old. When they born in Cuba the doctors is the one registering the baby. And when they competing in international tournaments, all the participant countries make sure that all is within the rules. Again you don't know $h1t.

                    • Should be a good fight. Looking forward to Ortiz bringing his A game and dropping Wilder.
