Middleman for the middleman?!?!? Dana & Ari are becoming the Haymon of the situation by hiring Haymon to hire a promoter?!?!?
Idk that seems way to bullsh^t-ish to me & like the UFC would just be becoming the new Waddell & Reed bankrolling PBC. Plus do you really think Haymon could regularly delivery a show for the numbers brought up or in that price range give or take?
I'd be surprised if Dana isn't running shows personally. I can already hear Dana going off on the WBO's & Arum's relationship sometime this year during a presser for some card.
And I'd be surprised if they do more than 6ish shows in year 1. Dana is already doing 40+ UFC shows a year. If they do more beyond that Dana won't be able to do both jobs.
I've speculated in the past that if this Zuffa Boxing thing takes off Dana is gonna need to drop one job so I think they will slow this down to make that not a issue til year 3 or 4 at the earliest. Hell as is with the limited weekends to put big combat sports cards on TV Dana might have double duties this year or have to plan events back to back Friday & Saturday or Saturday & Sunday at venues to make a UFC show + Boxing show promotable by Dana.
As to the PBC I think the PBC brand is becoming a new thing as we speak potentially. Look at all these Haymon promoted, PBC fighters, signing with promoters. There is still some argument to suggest that he's merely selling the products with lessening value or too many miles on the odometer & keeping the products with more upside in house to make some PBC TV deal at a future date with some regrouping, but if the Charlo's, Spence &/or Wilder start signing with promoters or the UFC specifically its a safe bet that the PBC has pivoted to some new goal or its folding in the near future cuz what PBC was trying to become is being melted as we speak with Jacobs, DeGale, Frampton & Khan (might be forgetting a bigger name or two) leaving free agency to sign up with a promotion.
