That fight probably does need to get built up & Spence spitting his name out at every opportunity is only going to make it bigger & make Thurman want it more too. Right now all Thurman is saying is his flute playing smart guy bs that no one wants to hear & acting like this fight can't happen for a year while these two are the clear top two guys in this division today.

There shouldn't be a division in boxing where the clear top two guys in a division need longer than a year to build up a fight. If it takes longer your guys promoters suck (of which these guys don't even got a promoter so no surprise there) & probably need the fight even MORE so your next 1 vs 2 fight WILL be big.
right on the money with that one. spence just turned from a top prospect to champ. why wouldnt he keep barking at the top dog at 147, thurman. thats what spence is supposed to do. keep talking and stay active 3 fights in 2018, maybe pick up some more trinkets. then eventually thurman will come around, in the mean time keep racking up them W's. right now i think its a 50/50. but with another year of experience, i will probably have to edge spence because he will gain more pro fight experience.

Good for Spence. 3 times is ok for top level guys. Keith Thurman is clearly milking his championship run. It's obvious that there are at least two better fighters than him in the division (Spence and Bud) and he's in no rush to fight either one.

It will be good while it lasts. Spence is not a one punch knock out artist and tends to soften people. Khan is fast and has a high work rate so definitely this would be a good fight. People forget Khan took Maidana's best shots and some guys couldon't get an answer but we're bewildered by his speed.

Lets not go that far yet. Crawford fought the B league at 140 (not his fault, but lets not go sucking his **** either). He's fighting the B league vs Horn. He's gotta prove more to me, & I'd assume most fans, before he's up there with Spence & Thurman as the top two guys at 147. Mostly just a fight there to start with.

Hell man I felt Spence was the best guy at 147 for awhile, but til he beat Brook & got on the scoreboard in the division as one of the top two guys you couldn't really say it or not use the term "potential to be #1 or in the top two" when talking about him.

And lets not ignore the fact that its probably gonna be a mfer & a half to get Arum & Haymon to get these guys fighting each other since Crawford is now the TR poster boy & if PBC has a future its likely poster boys are Thurman & Spence.

PLUS no one is gonna give a f#ck about a PPV enough that this will be some 2M buy huge fight where promoters are looking to work together to make it happen. So I got lil hope we see Crawford vs Spence or Thurman in 2018. It'd be great if I was wrong doe.

I dont think anyone here will argue against Spence fighting 3 times a year, but the reality ispretty grim of it actually happening. Have yet to see any PBC/Haymon fighter, fight more than once, let alone twice in a calendar year. The PBC is a blessing (fighters get more money) AND A CURSE, (only fight once, MAYBE twice if they're lucky).

Yep. Experience vs solid name guys is gonna do nothing but help Spence upgrade his game & got some more confidence & comfort being a title holder & in the ring with elite level guys. Right now its definitely a close fight with him & Thurman, but I think if it does take til 2019 to happen the odds will be swayed more Spence's way like you.

I'm into it. Spence just needs to keep grinding and fight as often as possible. Hopefully Thurman is looking to prove he is the best against the most dangerous guys.

I think Spence will have to put his foot down this year myself with fighting 3 times.

Or he'll need to sign with a promoter. I wouldn't be surprised if he aligns with Hearn. And its still a longshot cuz who knows what angle they'll take, but I think the Zuffa Boxing outfit could even end up picking him up if the UFC gets in bed with Haymon (the #1 source of unsigned boxers) like I think they'll have to if they wanna put on some compelling fights for boxing fans.
