nothing petty. Khan and Lucas were "any given Sunday" type of wins. I give him his props and that he did it, but I do not think he would've been able to beat them again and if he could've then he should've done it and shut everyone up.

He was losing to Khan until the hail mary left hook (he wasn't even looking and hit him in the neck and not the jaw) and his fight with Lucas can be about the same as his performance with Keith. If Danny thinks he deserves a rematch with Keith then why doesn't Lucas deserve a rematch with Danny? Danny took those wins and ran and never looked back. You mean to tell me a fight with Salka is better than a rematch with Khan/Lucas?

Salka fight was trash, I'd never defend that. But khan was stopped clean. Yeah he was winning, 2 whole rounds before he got clipped. It's not like he was meldrick Taylor vs Chavez getting stopped in the 12th of a fight he was winning. As far as mathysse, yeah it was competitive but mathysse was dropped and lost more rounds than he won. No real controversy. Based on that mindset, trout and khan should've been demanding a rematch vs canelo because they both competed vs him the same way khan and mathysse did vs garcia. Against Thurman, garcia lost but it was a split decision and he seemed to close much better than Thurman. There isn't a huge demand for a rematch but it's a more reasonable request than what either khan or mathysse have. And for the record, that no look left hook garcia landed vs khan wasn't lucky. You could see him getting closer and closer to khan and landing clean shots before the ko. It's the same left hook he landed on morales and salka.

fair enough assessment. At the end of the day, welterweight is stacked right now & hopefully they all fight each other. I'd expect Spence & Crawford to be the last 2 standing but I'd like to see it play out.

I do think he had a better than not chance of beating both again. Of course there is the chance he could lose but seeing how khan struggled with Algieri, I think it's more than likely that a heavier and more accurate puncher like Danny would've stopped him again. Maybe not as early but khan has a tough time staying disciplined for a full 12 rounds. As far as mathysse, again, seeing him go life and death vs molina and being stopped by postol makes me think he'd have a tough time beating Danny again. Mathysse does seem more comfortable at welterweight though so it could be interesting.

Rematch is useless if you're just going to do the same thing you did in the first fight. Thurman may have moved around a lot in the last rounds, but when he came forward you disrupt the fight by holding his arms, knucklehead.
