tank needs to do what floyd did and leave for better opportunitites. floyd doesnt believe in him.

this will be the opposite of what floyd did though. floyd refused to fight margarito and left to fight sharmba for less. davis will leave to fight good fighters. small difference.

As a promoter he's following the same blueprint as when he was a boxer: pick n' mix. Such a boring man. Him and Ward need to retire and never get involved in boxing again, they turned off so many potential fans of boxing with their coma-inducing fights.

You may hate the man but he deserves credit as a promoter. He has given his guys opportunities and put them in a position to succeed.

If you are a fighter you can't ask for much more than that. He opened doors for you now it's up to you to walk through them.

I think Mayweather is doing a helluva job as a promoter but don't act like Golden Boy and Top Rank aren't doing anything for their fighters... Your just a straight ****ing hater!
Be a man and stand on your own two feet punk and quit swinging off another man's nutts!
          SmallStompis loves two things.

          1. George of the Jungle
          2. Nuts

SmallStompis has something to tell the world the day that he gets the courage to come out. A man who clouds logic with meaningless rant.

SmallStompis is a nut lover. SmallStompis shaves grown men balls.

gayweather jr is shitty promoter he promotes himself more than he does his own fighters. he always wants to take the spotlight away from his fighters.

Idk about all that. Stevenson is potentially a guy who'll never have a fight even most hardcore boxing fans care about. He's not a guy to build your promotion around. TR won't & Mayweather wouldn't have been able to either.

That said I did like Stevenson's last fight, but I feel like he's gonna be one of these 12 round guys who people won't ever get behind THAT much or become much of a source of revenue for a promotion.

Good fighter doe, but being a lil guy in boxing is a uphill battle & I don't see THAT level of skill, greatness or personality in him, might be unfair to judge him this early, but when I saw young Floyd I saw something bigger, hell when I saw Abner Mares pro debut I got a better feeling about his potential than Stevenson's pro debut. Good luck to Stevenson all the same & I'm obviously not incapable of being wrong or changing my opinion at a future date.

                This.

Most of the cats in this thread are just hating for the sake of hating or hating on Floyd the boxer in the promotion business more than they are judging Floyd the promoter fairly.

Clearly any fighter who's not getting opportunities (which is most boxers in the game lets not bs) wants at a minimum a chance to prove he could do something with an opportunity given to him. Thats the biggest thing most of Mayweather's guys get. A chance to show how good they are whatever ceiling they are capable of reaching. I think more promoters should be aiming for that goal which is fairer to the boxer wishing to reach his maximum height off of his abilities (over the typical bs promoter hype & selling while they beat & KO much lesser fighters for yrs building up a manufactured record) & to the fans wishing to see the most competitive show they can see today.

Floyd fought Genaro Hernandez 2yrs into his pro career at 21yrs old. Thats not a safety first approach. Its silly some of you regs are so brainwashed/biased/whatever in how you view the sport with seeing great fighters with such a negative spin on everything.

Its hard to sell those non-US/non-Latino's doe. I mean people point to GGG & while GGG is the blueprint to move a non-US/non-Latino in boxing GGG had a lot going for himself (hilarious way of talking, catchy GGG name, nice guy + KO's mfers) that idk if a lot of other cats do in a similar situation.

Look at Loma. There is a solid case to say he's the best boxer in the game today & he's not nearly as popular as you'd think he should be given that current level he's at with several solid names on his resume already + the gold medals. Granted he does got the lil guy disadvantage which isn't gonna help him get bigger (pun intended), but even if Loma was 154lbs idk if he'd be that much more popular cuz US fans just don't seem to get behind non-US/non-Latino fighters that often or to the level of dedication a promoter would wanna have them reach.

So idk if there is some great diamond in the rough choices to make from that pool of fighters, but from a purely roster point of view I don't see anything wrong with signing them to fill up your cards & hope for the best. I just don't think the conversion rate is gonna be near as good for these types of guys finding popularity or stardom in boxing & thats already something that has a bad conversion rate for US/Latino fighters with a lot going for them.
