I don't get the logic behind a person who claims to be a Floyd Mayweather Jr. fan, or have respect for him, to then get angry if another person says they'd have liked to have seen him fight Gennady Golovkin or Sergio Martinez? Both would have been high risk fights but also both winnable fights for Floyd. What is wrong with wanting to see Floyd face and possibly overcome that kind of adversity? Both wins would have enhanced his legacy.

I'm a Floyd fan (Michigan Mfers!!!), but goddamn can we quit making threads about him all the damn time? He's retired. This should be in the Boxing History forum unless there are rumors he's coming back or something.

LOL it clearly does. The nuttiest thing is that almost all of these Floyd threads are the haters who are trying to discount a guy who's retired (& this has happened the first & second time he retired too).

Its a nice gauge to how great Floyd actually was that people can't let this sh^t go. I'm a MMA fan too & no one is making Randy Couture (a great MMA fighter) or Kimbo Slice (a notable, but not so great MMA fighter) threads all the time. The only fighter who's probably been talked about more post retirement is probably Ali.

That’s what happens when favorite fighters legacies are threatened.

                  Right on point, man.

Actually, after reading this thread, I did some quick mental recall of his fights, and they seemed even greater.

One particular fight, maybe my favorite of Floyd's fights, was Mosley. I was so impressed how, after being hurt with two big right hands, he bit down on his mouthpiece and went mental on Shane. (Brother ****m called it a dragon the way Floyd transformed. Lol.) That's what greats do when challenged.

Floyd vs Hatton, Corrales, Hernandez, Canelo, Cotto, Zab, Corley, were all masterpieces, too.

Most of his detractors are a bunch of sad cases. They look at their favorite fighters now, but not many are above average. Racism is one of the biggest factors for the hatred. Now, they've got Davis to hate on.

                  Let it burn!

Look at the thread. But they think a guy that was a 9/2 favourite and lost is the greatest fighter ever.

You mean Lomachenkio, right? Yeah, it's a joke. Lol.

They actually made me dislike the guy completely, quickly, like they did with GGG. Loma does have some cool fans, but the crazies outnumber them. I won't be engaging them anymore.
