Ok but he won the WBC from ODH and the WBA from Cotto both @154.
It's not speculation, it's fact. All documented. The thing is when people don't like Mayweather, they just leave out the facts and pretend he started boxing post ODH in 2007 and was the cash cow his whole career.
The facts show that as soon as he became the cash cow the guys that repeatedly said no began to say yes.
Again, just give the man his due.
Note: Lets project 5 years down the road when Tank gets around to fighting Loma. When that happens, you and others will not leave out the fact Floyd/Tank refused to fight Loma at one point. That is completely understandable and fair. So just do the same here with Floyd.
Pre cash cow he never even part unified one division. Marquez, for example was a much more avoided fighter and never a cash cow at least was partially unified in a couple of divisions.
Great fighter but some facts stand out that affect his legacy somewhat.Comment

I think Evander has brain damage from throwing all of those illegal headbutts.
Why stick in one weight class and be “undisputed” when you can be the P4P king and rule multiple weight classes.
Was easier for evander, he was cruiser then heavy. How many classes did Floyd go through?Comment

C'mon Champ... If by undisputed you mean lineal (having all or most belts, or being the man who beat THE man) lets not go too far. Cory Spinks was undisputed, Julio Cesar Chavez wasn't, let that sink in. That's much more difficult in weight classes where stiff competition lies in weight divisions above and below your very own division. People want to see you fight 3 weight classes at the same time when you are good in lower weights. The temptations to go up and down are high. A talented Heavyweight only has that one challenge because weight classes are not a variable for them since they only have one class. I always credit fighters who have fought thru great ranges of weight classes (Think Floyd, Pacquiao, Duran, Chavez, Whitaker). Besides, Floyd was either technically lineal twice, or never lost his lineal title (depending on how you feel his short break plays into it). Baldomir refused to pay sanctioning fees after beating Judah, which technically on paper, prevented Floyd from fighting for undisputed thought he beat the man that beat THE man. The later on, Floyd refused to pay for his sanctioning fees after Mosley (which would have made him undisputed again). If you forgot the path for how Floyd got to "undisputed", here it is and how it was passed to Floyd... Mosley lost to Forrest, Forrest lost to Mayorga, Mayorga lost to Spinks, Spinks lost to Judah, Judah lost to Baldomir, Baldomir to Floyd. If I'm wrong, by all means remind me. I could care less.. just like keeping track of boxing history.Comment

You should not speak again if you started to Follow Boxing since ummmmm 2005/2006.Comment

He did from both but 5 years apart so not unified. Oscar being WBC champ in 2007 didn't really mean much either he won it against a shot Mayorga after being out of the division for 3 years. He was way past his best getting gift belts based on his name not earning them.
Pre cash cow he never even part unified one division. Marquez, for example was a much more avoided fighter and never a cash cow at least was partially unified in a couple of divisions.
Great fighter but some facts stand out that affect his legacy somewhat.
Those facts don't damage his legacy, especially when given context. It's like posters find something Floyd didn't do and then arbitrarily make that an important factor in measuring status.
If anything the fact prime HOF guys refuse to fight him shows how special he was.
I may not be a big fan of Lennox Lewis but I don't hold it against Lewis that Bowe refused to fight him. I think the same applies to Floyd.Comment

He had won titles at 154, no CW, on 2 separate occasions prior to beating Canelo.
The ATG fighters in their prime repeatedly refused to fight him.
Most historians rank him in the top 20-25, including two lists we've seen on this site. So please, if you wish to put him lower that is your choice, but don't speculate where experts would rank him given the information available completely contradicts that opinion.
Just give the man his due, rank him where you wish, and point out that you personally disagree with where he comes up in expert rankings.Comment
