Ortiz can box if he has to, and he has to in order to get the angles that can trap Wilder. Both are dangerous punchers. It won’t go the distance and I admire Wilder for testing his own abilities on this one. He knows it’s dangerous territory.

No, that is not the reason. They get fat and lazy... Savon or Stevenson and even Milian could have won a belt.

You admire Wilder for testing his ability?! He has had frickin 40 fights!! And now he’s in with 50 year old and we’re supposed to be impressed...take everything else out of the equation for a second... Wilder is a huge HW in his prime and Ortiz is 50, how is that a test..?

Let’s put it another way, it’s like Lennox Lewis, in around 1999 saying, ‘you know I think I need a test, let’s not fight Holyfield let’s wheel out a 50 yr old George Foreman, that’ll prove how good I am’ and let’s keep in mind Foreman would probably have more credibility, he had at least held a world title twice, boxed the golden era and picked up a title in his mid 40s. But if this had happened Lewis would have been a laughing stock...and you are impressed by Wilder, man some people really are easy to please

If we talking lazy don't forget Odlanier Solis, he's the laziest ever.

Wilder started boxing at age 19. 19. He went to the Olympics and won Bronze with less than 4 years experience. His lack of solid opponents is due to nobody wanting to risk getting drilled and of course failed drug tests.
Ortiz is very dangerous and now he can mask all of his steroids. I expect Wilder to break Ortiz's nose in the first 2 rounds and that will make Kong reluctant to punch. Ortiz gets knocked out in rounds 6 or 8.

The thing with Wilder is that he's going to struggle with the skill and timing. He has speed, size and power (Although Ortiz is not a small guy himself and has decent power) but the skill set and timing will be his problem.

That being said, Ortiz is kind of old vs a prime HW.

who? Do you even remember that waste of talent? He was suited for cruiser even LH more than HW. Still he created a SuperHW division all by himself.

Sadly I remember that waste of talent, seams all Cubans go the same path (HW).
