Wlad was the bigger puncher and the more skilled boxer but Vitali was a meaner dude. His mental strength, heart, toughness, iron chin and awkward style made him the better fighter and a tougher opponent to beat.

i think wlads mistake was to fight like his older brother, but under emanuel steward he realized he is more of a defensive fighter. when he started hiding behind his jab, no one came close to win more than 2-3 rounds let alone KO him for over 10years. vitali is a better offensive fighter than him, but no doubt wladimir is overall much better than vitali. i used to think vitali was better a couple of years ago, but now i think wlad is more talented than vitali.

wlad had the better title reign (obviously, he had a better reign than almost everyone) but id pick vitali in a head to head

vitali's health issues sidelined him for what would have been the best years of his career then when he came back he took a back seat to his brother to avoid fighting each other, very unique situation to say the least

Vitali was the more offensive guy and had no problem to fight it out, but wouldnt exactly call him someone who has heart.

If one of the more dividing fighters like ward, golovkin or lomachenko had quit due to an shoulder injury in the ninth round while leading on all scorecards, they would have get criticised for weak hearted p ussy quitters lol.
