          Been paying for boxing for years. I've never been a fan of streams. However 85k seems excessive.

            Sky may not even care if they win, they want the story out there to scare others from not doing it. They can afford to spend much more on lawyers than this guy. He already signed some agreement saying hes going to pay them 5k along with an official apology. Thats what they really want and thats why they make the "fines" that low, because they know common folk can cough that up and will spend less just handing over the 5k with a forced apology they can use in their anti-piracy than what they would spend on fighting it. Then Sky can market themselves as being generous and forgiving if they stop pursuing the $85k they initially asked for.
            5k is actually really high for somehing like this. Usually the bidding starts around 1.5k and they settle on a wrist slap.

            If it is really true this guy actually is nailed for 5k and pays it I would be surprised.
