Meanwhile, I don't think that Mikey is ducking. Being a "free" agent and all, I think that he is choosing his fights a bit more carefully than Easter because if he gets a loss, it becomes harder to market himself. Losing no belt in a title fight at a higher division is better, methinks, than losing your belt at your own division.

I understand where you're coming from but in this case I do believe it was a career and business venture to move up and capture another title.. Mikey has said more than once that he plans on moving back down to 135. If he beats Lipinets I don't have any doubt he will unify in 2018

Nah man don't mention the cotto offer. That was crap and everybody knows it.

First Mikey would have been required to jump three weight classes to make that fight.

Secondly Golden Boy basically said...here's Cotto, but you have to be our bish if you want this fight.

Mikey fought long and hard, and lost two years of his career so that he can become a free agent. Aint no way you can expect him to tie himself up to Golden Girl after fighting so hard for independence.

I understand Mikey not taking the Cotto fight, that would have been a dangerous move but my point is he keeps saying how he wants these big fights and he said he wanted to fight Cotto and then he always ends up fighting in a smaller fight against an easier opponent. Hes misleading the public and name dropping to build interest but has no intention of actually making those fights. I think he'll fight Linares next but he could have fought him or Robert Easter instead of Lipinets

4 more boogeymen? He hasnt even fought 1 boogeyman and thats the problem. He doesnt take a fight unless hes heqvily favored to win. Rojas, Zlaticanin, Broner, and now Lipinets? Give me a break thats 1 ok opponent out of 4 but he has yet to face an elite opponent and he claims he wants to be a Ppv fighter. Looks like hes doing everything possible to not become a ppv fighter. If he would have stayed with Top Rank he would have already had a couple ppv's by now but at this rate I dont ever see him fighting in one

Cant argue with you there. I fact i preferred Easter over Linares because I dont think Linares is all that. He got KO'd in round 1 and 2. And KO'd by a guy Broner KTFO.

Then thought all was signed and good to go woth Easter... Then they announced Lipnets???
