As others have suggested the WBA have brought in their own fairboxing program. Last April all top 15 fighters and their promoters were sent a letter saying they needed to enrol in VADA's testing program. It wasn't mandatory until the start of 2018 though.

So both Bivol and Barrera should now both be enrolled in VADA by now. It will be interesting to see which fighters get dropped from the WBA rankings at the end of the month for not enrolling. That will be a clear indication that these fighters are scared to enrol and are likely doping.

Why do people wait until after the contracts are signed to demand testing? That should be negotiated during negotiations of the contract. You tell a fighter he's getting $300,000 and he's budgeted for his training expenses and other expenses. Suddenly you wanna throw an extra $15k in there. That's crazy.

Can't really argue with this - of course testing should be the accepted norm, but it needs to be written in from the get-go. That extra $10K or $15K can represent a significant chunk of a fighters net earning... let's just see how this one pans out, hopefully a solution can be reached.

Apparently not because you already see idiots in this thread bashing Barrera for wanting testing. Boxing fans are so trash. If it was the other way around, we'd already have 7 pages of people praising Bivol and slamming Barrera because one is popular right now and the other hasn't gained many fans.

bivol aint popular and he dont have many fans...just the same group of internet cheerleaders that shake their pom poms for the same type of fighters over and over in hopes they can assert dominance so these posters can feel empowered

its become almost impossible to seperate or distinguish a genuine fight fan who enjoys EE fighers, or a good EE fight fan, from a fanboy now......they are almost synonymous now....very few of them are realistic or hold all fighters to the same standard...and by very few id say maybe a handfull

Good for them. I don't trust VADA anymore. They never catch any big money making stars in North America. If I was Bivol or any other top boxer that isn't protected by the corrupt boxing establishment, I would refuse to use VADA whenever possible, because it seems that all VADA is being used for these days is to ensure certain guys cant use PEDS while their opponents can. I just want to see fights on an even playing field, and I think for that to happen, guys need to start rejecting VADA.
