Eddie Hearn, promoter for IBF, WBA, IBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs), says the likely showdown with WBO champion Joseph Parker (24-0, 18 KOs) is a major fight in the sport. The discussions continue between Hearn and Parker's promoter, David Higgins of Duco Events.

only three fights for Anthony Joshua in the heavyweight division(parker, wilder, fury) wonder who's next up if/when he gets them out of the way..this division needs rising contenders asap and not old guys like povetkin,Ortiz or pulev...jarell milller with his ever growing weight is too slow to cause problems for a.j...easy work

Its pathetic really when you think about it : A.J's best win will be a guy that lost to Andy Ruiz, and if Parker beats A.J he beat the guy that has a win over a semi-retired Klitschko and Charles Martin -- who arguably took a dive.

This win does not compare to Deontay Wilder beating a Luis Ortiz or a primed #2. HW in the world Bermane Stiverne ; when you add the other highly ranked opponents that Deontay has faced with a 40-0 record how can anyone take these clowns serious?

LOL, you do realize that Parker is ranked #3 by Ring and Ortiz (without consideration of his steroid-cheating) is ranked #5?

You really are a Beyonce nut-rider eh? Tell me when Beyonce actually fights a Heavyweight without a Santa Claus belly?

Beyonce fights fat tomato cans - and now he's fighting an old one at that.

I doubt he'll get to fight Parker, Fury and Wilder by the end of 2018. Maybe 2 of them if we are lucky. I suspect Fury will be 2019 as his weight will take some time to come down and he'll need a few comeback fights.

Povetkin would still be a solid win, though he is getting on and clearly past prime. Povetkin will likely wait for a mandatory shot so he can get a good payday. Could happen in 2018 or 2019.

Hopefully Usky will move up and make waves at heavyweight. The WBSS will be over in May so hopefully we see his heavyweight debut in 2018 and maybe a Joshua fight in 2019.

Haye says Joyce will go for a title in 2 years so we can expect a fight around 2020 if he remains undefeated.

But after that we might have a bit of a void until some of the younger prospects come through. But this is of course if Joshua wins all these fights, which is a big ask.

Why do you recognize the Ring rankings? Ring is owned by Golden Boy Promotions and several journalists that worked for Ring have publicly confirmed that Golden Boy interfered with the rankings process. Which is why so many of them quit in disgust and started the TBRB rankings.

What is the logic in pointing to a ranking system owned by HBO's lead promoter as some sort of independent or unbiased set of ratings? Why wouldn't you instead use TBRB?

The quote he is referring to mentions the #2 position of stirvene when he fought wilder so I’m sure it was just a response to that. Why didn’t you ask the same question to him?

Remember the same guy you laugh and scoff at would be the best win for A.J or any of the current crop of HWs.

You do realize Parker took a vacation to Samoa when Vada came looking for him right?
