Comments Thread For: Loeffler: Naoya Inoue's Move To 118 Rules Him Out For Superfly 2

This past weekend in Yokohama, Japan, Naoya Inoue defended his WBO 115-pound title by blowing out Yoann Boyeau in three quick rounds. There was talk of Inoue appearing on the February 24th edition of 'the SuperFly2' card at the Forum, where HBO will once again feature the super flyweight division as they did back in September at the StubHub Center.

Does the 'SuperFly' concept have to be so rigid and only include those in the 115-pound division?

"Well, for this show HBO still wants to keep it at the super fly division on the televised fights," said Loeffler. ''But in the future, there might be some flexibility on that."

Good question, the hardcore don't discriminate on the neighboring divisions, on the contrary it would be great to see like a Inoue vs. Tete type of fight where we also get a unification at 115 -- anything from flyweight weight too superbantam ( 122 ) would be dope.

LMAO I love how they mention offering fights to Yafai, the U.K guy who fights overseas and on those shows over there, and then Ancajas who's locked in with Top Rank and ESPN.

Did they forget about the other fighters fighting on that card, who would be BETTER fights for Inoue then the two they just mentioned "they offered the fights to but turned them down." No **** they are going to turn the fights down, thats why you offered the fights to begin with.

This is so blatant of a duck it's not even funny. There's so many other actual GREAT fights at the weight class that aren't the mentioned "title holders", and you have the guy who beat Gonzalez holding the WBC title headlining the card he was supposed to fight on, they could have set that fight up too. But nope, they don't even mention it...I wonder why. Don't be blinded people. Inoue vs Cuardas, Estrada, Sisrikat, Gonzalez weren't mentioned at all, it's not by accident. They're trying to deflect. All of those fights would be great and should be made, they all fight on the same network and card.

Inoue is becoming the most ducked man in boxing. But instead of complaining about being ducked he's moving to where he can get fights. Respect!

Well 1st off Estrada and Gonzalez are the SAME PERSON.And Cuardas IS fightin on card vs Mcjoe Arroyo. The main being SSR vs Gonz. But Cuardas vs Inoue would have been better fight and I would give him REAL chance vs the Monster.Inoue has a great off but his deff has room for improvement. If he moved his head ONCE in last fight I'm Santa Clause. His hook is a thing of beauty tight as fish puzzy and distance and timing is spot on but he can be outboxed by a special talent and Cuardas is at least CLOSE to that.

Really disappointed that Inoue has to move up but as long as he faces bigger and better opponents at 118, it’s all good..

At least we still get Sor Rungivisai vs. Estrada. But it's been gutted now, thanks to Arum.

Did gonzalez and Estrada do some super saiyan morph and become one person? Lol reminds me of wilders hybrid comment, half Gonzalez/half estada haha
