I think Froch took some wine before blowing such hot air about Ward.

Correct. And anyone who is unbiased and has eyes in their head knows he lost to Kov.

        I strongly doubt that.

I believe Ward left out of frustration, he could never be a super star no matter who he fought. The "i'l fight Joshua" was just him pushing to see how far he needs to go before people can start appreciating him and paying for his fights and there was still barely any buzz about him. Instead people said he should, dare to be great blah blah....

The man fought all comers with ease, the Kovalev first fight failed PPV wise. The 2nd fight was meant to be a huge seller seeing the first fight was really intriguing but that failed again. Then Floyd came out of no where, fought a non boxer and sold mega PPV. Canelo and GGG was about to do the same just a few days before Ward called it quits with boxing. The man couldn't take it anymore.

In his statement he said "....my desire to fight is no longer there". I may be totally off but I truly believe this is the reason he retired.

Ward left because of $. Nothing else. Nobody was going to continue to pay him $5 million to lose millions on each card. It was a forced retirement imo.

Odd from Carl and sounds like a dig at Ward which in fact takes Carl down a few pegs.Carl must remember Wards win over him was emphatic and that will never change. This kid has looked decent but is a novice.

That said he did also say that Bivol would give Kovalev trouble too so it's less anti-American and more his hatred of Ward along with him clearly being high on Bivol.

In that same article Jonny Nelson mentioned Connor Benn as one to watch for 2018!
Lmao! Conner benn looks like he's been learning defense from connor mcgimper even all his dads money can't buy him elite talent even though he'll keep trying.

As for froch & sky sports those clowns are all a bunch of hanger oners & groupies even though I like froch, other gimps like Tony Bellend bring their Network into disrepute. The fact that they are on benns nuts while hating on many proven champs shows what eddie hearn puppets they are.

Froch still angry over Ward exposing him with 1 hand during super 6 tournament Bivol who know one knows has 12 fights couple years away from fighting a Ward who doesn’t draw huge himself no bearing on retirement

This guy has no business getting in there with a fighter like Ward. Kovalev even stop him. Froch still a bitter B.

I was always a Froch fan because i felt that his style deviated from many others from across the pond.... Thought he was slick enough and hit hard enough to hurt Ward. That being said I went to Boardwalk Hall and watched a one-sided fight - hence these type of Ward-demeaning statements from him throughout the years. He's still entertaining to me but its been too long for a comeback - but like Virgil Hunter said: I gotta at least respect the man with a girl that hot

Ward tapped out because the light-hevyweight division stacked.

                      He didn't fancy it.

So he pulled a ducking move like Mayweather, wait for the top guys to fight each other, knock lumps out of each other and maybe comeback and cherry pick a damaged champion at the right time and says how good you are.
