Tarver talks WAY too much for people to like him. Tarver wanted to be recognized as one of the greatest fighters of all time without having accomplished too much. His entire "legacy" was built on Roy Jones, and he never stops talking about Roy Jones. He wasn't even spectacular against Roy. He lost the first fight, which was close, and won the third fight, which was close and a horrible showing for both fighters. Then he fights Glenn Johnson and loses a close fight and wins the rematch. After the fight Merchant asked him if Hopkins was making it difficult or giving him trouble, or something like that. So, he says something to the effect of, "No, I just didn't have it. I was flat. In this sport sometimes you just don't have it." Sorry, Tarver, but the greats do have it night in and night out. You are a very good fighter, but not an all-time great. Tarver talked so much ****, that he's made his defeat much harder than it had to be. He says, he'll be the laughing stock of boxing if he loses. He says there is no way Hopkins should be able to win. He says so many ****** things that now he has to eat his words in front of millions of people. If he'd just gone about his business, kept fighting the best opponents available, and not worried about being recognized as a legend, or talked **** about so many fighters, people would have liked him far more, and would have been far more lenient about his losses. I mean, he even started talking **** about fighters that weren't even in his weight class.
Y hate on Tarver???

You gotta give him credit for changing his life and beating Roy Jones Jr the guy who dominated the sport for a long time.
As for B-Hops lost every man loses once in a while. Could be he got some hidden problems that he did not wanna say it and that is just man enough to admite he is a man and a great warroir.Comment

Nice Mayweather quote on the first lineOriginally posted by Rosewood_htownNaw playa, Travers mouth wrote checks that his ass couldn't cash...Hopkins moved up to 175lb and Traver was out of his weight class....Bottom line playa, Traver talked too much ****...he only beat Roy...He was forced to repect last night because Hopkin simply took it...
. Tarver is a good fighter but no need to call him a legend killer. Jones is finished. Tarver needs to beat some more good fighters out there to even be thought of being on a pound for pound list. If you talk too much and you lose your gonna look ****** in the end, which happened against Bernard.
