  • Comments Thread For: Hearn: No Issue on Officials, I Doubt Joshua-Parker Goes Twelve

Eddie Hearn, promoter for WBA, IBF, IBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs), has no problem with the request for neutral officials for the unification with WBO world champion Joseph Parker (24-0, 18 KOs). Joshua vs. Parker is very close to a deal and could be finalized by the end of the coming week.

He seems to be stopping short of fully saying "yes, the officials will be from neutral countries". Stuff like 'I have no problem either way' isn't quite the same. I doubt it goes to the cards as well but that's not really the point. Parker's team seem amateurish at times but did well to make sure the Hughie fight wasn't a local judging job.

Of course the judges will be neutral, fights not happening in America after all. Therell be a random guy from Costa Rica or some ****, he'll be the paid of judge. But yeah, don't really see it going to the cards anyway.

Ideally a neutral ref is needed to stop a poxy stoppage like the last one.

Also parker needs to make sure none of the shoddy judges like IJL, marcus mcdonnell, terry o-connor, and especially dave paris and Phil Edwards (who let the groves fight go on way too long yet stopped the takam fight way too soon) are nowhere in sight or he will be shafted.

The ref they had a problem with in the Fury fight was a judge in that fight, he scored it the widest for Parker.

Terry O'Connor that had it 118-110 Parker in the Fury fight?

He also carried cleverly back to his corner when he was sagging like a baby giraffe against kovalev, lol.

Plus if two boxers are feeling each other out and boxing technically he says: 'get on with it', like boxing is some kind of bar room brawling? Basically a way to penalise the back foot boxer, who is likely to be JP.

Plus he is so fat and his trousers are up around his armpits, its hard to appreciate the action.

Yep, Hearn needs to watch the judges more. A lot of the commentators had Hughie winning that fight but the judges wide for Parker. (no problem with the result but Parker definitely had the home town (lol) favour with the judges.

Looks like it'll be a decision to me. Why wouldn't it be? Parker is going to stay outside, then smother when he comes in. I don't see a lot of clean exchanges happening, nor will they stand and ****. Parker has enough chin and stamina to go longer than anyone AJ has fought.
