So why did Arum make Cotto give up 2lbs?

Shady stuff.... I wonder how much Oscar gave in to keep quiet in that nondisclosure...145...right...
Pacquiao just recently TKO'ed Oscar and Hatton, and Cotto recently coming off a Margo loss and a Clottey War. Not rocket science that Pacquiao will have an edge in negotiations and 145 would help Pacquiao since he is a smaller man.

      That doesn't make any sense.

Oscar was always bigger than Cotto before the fight.. rocket science doe! Cotto having a loss to whoever has what to do with him still being smaller than De La Hoya? Your justifications show #48ism at its best but you cry 155...

I will give you some points here.

Dela Hoya is bigger than Miguel Cotto. Because Miguel Cotto is the smaller man than ODH he would have easier time making 145. And because Pacquiao is smaller than Cotto and never blows up fight night, he would have a hard time trying to make full 147 so he asked Cotto to do the fight at 145, with Miguel Cotto having easier time making 145 than Dela Hoya since he is smaller he agreed, and made weight, and Pacquiao smaller than Cotto made weight also.

And Canelo being as big as GGG, and blows up to the high 70's. There is no reason for Canelo to ask a 155 catchweight for GGG since GGG himself blows up to the lower to mid 70's fight night.

So there are more reason for Pacquiao to ask 145 catchweight (a 2 lbs difference of 147) than for Canelo to ask GGG go down 5 pounds to 155.

Up to 135 Pacquiao was a weight drainer always the bigger man in the ring. Over 135 he cherry picked fighters coming off losses/drained them. Pacquiao used weight to his advantage all the time. He gets applauded for it.
