Enough about trying to defend wilder mediocre opponent listing, this is about Parker and Joshua.

Both fighters have continued to test themselves, Parker has taken on Ruiz, Takam, Fury and compromised sensibly for a Joshua match-up. Nobody can question his commitment to taking on tougher fights. Similarly Joshua has gradually stepped up, and is still only on c.20
Fights. Both attenpting to unify rather than spend several years facing opposition they know will be walkovers is a credit to them both, you will find many other boxers who spend much longer, sometimes years avoiding decent opponents.

As for the chins, and Parkers in particular, I think we will find out how good it is because although Parker is capable of moving he's not a hughie fury sort of boxer so he isn't going to avoid Joshua for long, I haven't seen that many fights of his but his head movement looks a bit suspect (not unlike Joshua). I'm. It sure about Ruiz (o don't know him well enough) but takam and fury are both more endurance style fighters so this one will be a different match-up; I suspect he will struggle to last to the end of I'm honest. Remember others had reputations for lasting against Joshua but didn't make the bell:
Kevin Johnson - 2nd round (first person to stop him) - Vitali , chisora and fury failed to stop him

Dillian Whyte - 7th round (almost done in the 1st too) - just look at chisora whyte for what hits he can take and not be knocked down

Breazeale - otherwise unbeaten, appeared really resistant but eventually just broke down to the hits

Klitschko - first time he had been stopped for well over a decade, and was knocked down 3 times before stoppage.

Takam - only povetkin able to stop
Him otherwise lots of fighters including Parker have gone the distance

Then obviously the others; Cornish/Martin were unbeaten and only properly dismissed after being beaten convincingly. Molina was absolutely destroyed, unlike other fighters , including Wilder , who be managed to put resistance up against.

I think this could be a better fight than people give credit for, Parker is definitely underrated and does come into the fight with a genuine possibility of making the 12 rounds though even if that's not my expectation , let's get it on.

Parker is better offensively than Klitchko ......NOT .

These are the types you are conversing with here .

Parker has about as much chance against Joshua as anyone against PRIME 80's Tyson in that era when he fought the available fighters .

It would be a major upset and Joshua SHOULD be no less a 20 to 1 favorite .

Parker in realty will be lucky to win more than 1 rnd even in a 12 rnd fight .

Although Parker is durable, has good fitness and conditioning, and can box- I don't see him buzzing AJ unless AJ presents him with a golden opportunity, and I'm not a believer in Joshua having a glass jaw - Amir Khan has a glass jaw, that's the reference point.

Further, Parker hasn't been able to wobble any of his recent opponents which suggest he doesn't, or may not have the power required to put away top level HW's.

That being said, Parker is still quite young and is still developing so there may be room for him to work on putting more pop in those paws!

Johann Duhaupas may not have been well known when Wilder knocked him out, but he went on to knock out undefeated Robert Helenius to win the silver world championship. Duhaupas subsequently spent the rest of the year in the top 10 of most of the major independent ranking systems, including TBRB, until losing on short notice to a roided out Povetkin.

Is it really fair to say Duhaupas wasn't a "good" fighter? Or are you exaggerating?
I do believe I am being fair. I don't consider either man a serious HW contender. They are on that Chisora level. Decent but that is about it.

The only way I would see this as going Parker’s way is if he was a bit of a sleeper and AJ came in under-estimating him, but he’s known so AJ will come in and school him.

Can't argue with one syllable of that post.

AJ within the distance. Just better.

Thanks Juggs, their comments did strike me a little ‘troll’ like. Agree with you 100% on the probable outcome of the fight

I'll be very surprised if Joshua doesn't take him out early.

I'll be surprised if he does take him out early. Parker is no walk over. At the worst he's no worse than Takam based off of their fight and Takam took Joshua 10 rounds.

Parker isn't as elusive as Takam but he's shown a solid chin so far and Joshua isn't the type to go rushing in, he's learned his mistake from the Whyte fight, he has a much more measured approach now.

Plus Parker's speed will definitely see Joshua take a few rounds to adjust and get his timing down.
