I watched an interview on YouTube this morning from January this year discussing the three heavyweights and comparisons between them. At the time the summary was:

Parker had fought decent opposition but hadn’t shown big development since taking on higher level opponents. He has of course struggled to knock out opponents at higher level

Joshua had (at that point) controlled all his fights with possible exception of round or two against whyte, but his real test would be against klistchko coming up.

Wilder hadn’t yet been tested against anyone decent, so although his defence looks weak and his chin suspect (fights he had been rocked in unexpectedly) it was hard to tell till he steps it up.

The conclusion was 2017 was a big year to see where everyone was in comparison.

Parker has continued on a similar path, taking on decent opponents but no-one elite level yet. Joshua continued progression - both fighting each other early 2018 is obviously a good fight and test for both.

Unfortunately Wilder has gone no where, nobody really knows if he is any better now than a year ago! He still hasnt fought anyone of any note, so we still don’t know if all his claims of being best of the world is anything - is he just a domestic fighter? Hopefully 2018 will actually tell us finally!

If he loves to fight bums, why is he so determined to fight King Kong? If he loves to fight bums, why did he fly overseas to fight Povetkin in enemy territory when he could have easily vacated and fought Martin for the IBF instead. Say whatever you want about Wilder, but clearly he genuinely desires to fight the best.
