Which is why everyone who matters escalated him to #1 P4P boxer in the world after that victory.... You're failing to convince anyone w/ that argument.

I thought you were a step above those trolls I was picking on but if you wanna be in that camp, whatevs.

Anyhow, I'm not going to ruin the thread w/ side topics. I think the first sentence said all I need to say on the subject.

Don’t know how to post the image, just the link. It’s only 14 seconds long, so it’s worth hitting the link.

He was at the height of his powers, on several levels, before that shot. Lol

Anderson was never the same since. Next up was the infamous broken leg incident. Ewwww...

Yeah, Silva's aura of invincibility made it difficult to bet against him back then, but that aura was destroyed completely after that fight. Just like when Tarver knocked out Roy Jones jr. I couldn't believe it, and Roy was never the same since.

It’s an interesting psychological phenomena among mammals, not just humans. Once that seal is broken, things are never the same. Before the four-minute barrier in the mile was broken, it seemed an impossible feat. Then, when Roger Bannister broke threw, several others followed suit. In a fighter’s case, once he’s been beaten, others are encouraged, and the beaten fighter himself doesn’t regard himself as invincible anymore.

I don’t think I’ve watched that footage more than once or twice. I’m not especially squeamish, but that shit is tough to watch. Lol

Ward was escalated to #1 p4p because on paper he did have 2 victories over Kovalev, so by the numbers, in theory, the #1 spot was justified.

However in reality, both wins have an asterix over them. First fight was seen as a Kova victory by the majority of fans and media. As for the second fight, it was incorrectly stopped instead of it being a breather for Kovalev and a possible point deduction for Ward, by an incompetent or corrupt referee...

Stopped reading there because P4P is not an on-paper (calculated) ranking. It's an overall evaluation of skill that takes "real world" considerations into play.
